Brandon Carlo is that monster D youre looking for lol but he's been a riser in many drafts. 6'5 200. Really the only big dman that'll go first round. Ryan Pilon you could grab with your 2nd rounder, big fan of him. 6'2 205, offensive dman. - FLYERSROCK!
You youngins with time on your hands have more knowledge of the prospects that are up and coming. Us old farts appreciate the tidbits on them you guys provide. Keep it up |

Being obsessed with the top of the draft I'm not that familiar with the guys around that area, but I hope we go D. We have way too many forward prospects right now. IF we trade it, it better only be to move up in the draft. - Herzeleid
Move up and take Kylington |

There's many quality dmen in this draft it looks like.
Have to keep in mind there's always about 5 prospects per draft that never really make it, so there is a chance he doesnt pan out, but it happens.
If I were you guys i'd go D just with the abundance of good young FW prospects you guys have |

I think that the youth development would be even better The kids would be ecstatic to play with him. - EnrothWeTrust
Right?? The best forward still playing the game???
I'd buy a Jagr jersey |

Are there any offensive D man around that area? - Herzeleid
That's what I'd want, I guy that can take the puck and go also be a PP QB. With Risto, Zadorov, Bogosian we have enough size back there already |

Kylington has really seemed to have dropped in all the rankings for some reason. if Isles exit in first 2 rounds, you'll still probably have to move up to get him. Lots of defensive dmen
Jeremy Roy. Gizmo has a huge crush on him, I do too. That should be the guy you should be going for around there. I think he could end up being a very good offensive dman in this league |

His presence is enough to boost morale. I don't expect an immediate turn around next season, but Jagr could make it fun playing with all of the young talent. |

Jagr would be fun...no? - Stripes77
Sure.
Let me pretend for a minute
Kane McEichel Ennis
Moulson Reinhart Jagr
Gionta Girgenson Larsson (I think he deserves to be on a top 3 line)
Foligno McCormick D-lo
Thats not to shabby IMO |

Grigs > Larsson - Herzeleid
I know he is, but that doesnt mean they can't play on the same line. |

Have you watched the last 15 or so games. They are complete opposites. Larsson has 13 points in his last 16 games. He is a heady player who is consistent. Grigs is terribly inconsistent and timid. I'll take Larsson 100 out of 100 times over Grigs. |

My opinion, Gringo makes the 2nd line next season while the new kids on the block adapt. |

Michael,
Another excellent blog. You have synthesized in a few paragraphs a few years worth of serious suffering. But that is now behind us. The future is incredibly bright and I feel that within 5 years we should have a legitimate shot at the Stanley Cup.
Regarding tonight's game, to me it's a win/win situation. I want the Sabres to play hard and with pride. I hope the fans give them an incredible standing ovation - at the beginning, middle and end of the game. If we win, awesome - the Pens are out. If we lose (but play a good hard game), then the Bruins are out. An interesting paradox, 2 teams that we have been jealous of (for winning the cup) are now on the decline. Our paths will pass soon enough with these teams and many others, as the Sabres rise to the top.
Life is great and so is being a Sabres fan today! |

I doubt it, if Sam can't play at the NHL level then GirgensonS is 2C and Larsson is 3C |

Very well could be . We have a bunch of "C"s that other teams would want.

I'm kinda done with him. Plus where does he fit? I'm not sure he can play win, he's afraid of the corners. |

Agreed but I think Grigo is turning into a NHL player. My guess is he puts up more points than Larsson but Larsson is that more consistent 3rd liner. |

I duno? If he could turn into a goal scorer only and pot 40. We have enough so called 2-way forwards and D to cover him. I really think he could be a 40 goal scorer in the league. Just a hunch. |
