I think Weber is an easy sign. He is RFA with . 860 k salary. Tell him we will sign you to one year deal for 1.2 mil for one year then we extend you during the year for a proper NHL contract seeing Bieksa Hamhuis come off the books at the end of the year - VANTEL
Even at 1.2 the nucks have 5 more guys to sign or bring up for 800k - 4.8 million depending on what the cap does.
I'm sure Benning is aware of this and I'm sure he has a plan, it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Moving miller would go a long way if lack can cement the starting role this postseason. |

If they can't sign a player for 1. 2 that sparks their PP, they they will be having bigger issues.
They would be better served moving a player or two
BTW I've seen Millers wife act. He should not be limiting his locations to California only , her career could be over very soon. |

I'm thinking there will be a similar post if we some how manage to get past the flames and meet/beat Anaheim in the 2nd round. Would love to beat Kesler after the poop he's said about the Canucks.

I think that's the point I was making with the two recent deals, regardless of what the value is they have created a bigger issue.
Imo Weber is a guy they should be ensuring they resign but I think the writing is on the wall.
Clendenning will be waiver eligible for next season so unless I am mistaken I believe he has already been given a spot. Bieksa is really the only realistic moving piece on Defense and he is big part of the leadership core and has a ntc. Some might feel Hamhuis is another option but I don't buy it, he is still one of the best defenders on the team.
I wonder how Matthias/Weber/Richardson feel about these extensions, do they wonder if it means there is no room for them?
I know the stock answer is I don't worry about any of that stuff but I imagine it goes through there heads. |

I don't think Jim Benning cares about how they feel, it's a tough business to manage the cap...hard decisions have to be made. |

I am sure JB or any other GM facing Cap issues will figure them out. I am sure we will see Weber here next year. |

No doubt, the cap implications is a bi.tch but also very entertaining for me at least to ponder.

I certainly hope so, he has been an excellent addition to the PP and hasn't looked out of place getting regular minutes with Hamhuis. |

Joseph Labate is on the Comets roster today.... i didn't even hear about him signing with the nucks.
would like to see subban and McNally signed as well. Both are solid Offensive defensemen that we're currently lacking! |

Oddly, not a word. But then again, there was no game day skate. Probably won't see anything until warm up. |
