That's subjective. I think the concerns of the contract are drastically overblown, and when a team struggles as the Flyers did this year, there are players that are scapegoated. That doesn't change that I feel that there are areas where he can improve, but other then a few players, that can be said for pretty much every player on this team.

Again, I don't like MacDonald but I do believe Luke Schenn would only benefit from seeing a full season next to MacDonald. If Schenn plays with anyone else, he's having another below average season.

Jesus, Luke Schenn depending on Andrew MacDonald and vice versa? (frank) me, see you all in 2017.

Back in the old days of full on divisional playoffs, you ended up having some serious hatred. It's why my Penguins hate has never matched my Rangers hate. My goodness, Those 1980's series fostered some deep seated hate.

yeah. i understand that point of it, and its what i think the league is likely going for.

i have no auspices of thinking that the pens will pull this series out, but i have no doubts that it will still make me loathe the rangers even more upon its conclusion.

so in that regards, i cant deny its effectiveness.

I thought Luke played very well with MacDonald when we first traded for MacDonald and we finally unloaded Meszaros and Gustafson became our seventh defenseman. In my mind Del Zotto and Streit are strictly offense. Schenn and Grossmann are strictly defense. MacDonald on the other is decent in his own zone and carry the puck up ice. Schenn might be okay seeing an entire season with Schultz too. Schenn I just believe needs to play next to a responsible guy.

They're trying to find a happy medium. It's possible for division hopping, with the wild cards, but they like the divisional matchups having more weight

yeah i understand and agree with what youre saying.

administratively, the NHL usually does a good bit of missing the mark for my own personal tastes though.

i also just thoroughly female dog and moan a lot. it happens.

Not until they consistently give him decent linemates.

Top-3 players they shared ice-time with...

Bergeron: Marchand, R. Smith, D. Hamilton
Couturier: Matt Read, Nick Schultz, Umberger

And he wonders why Coots can't get out of the d-zone and light it up like Bergy?

- Tomahawk

Comparing the situation to Boston, really isn't a good comparison. Boston has a much better mix of forwards, and more importantly, they have a legitimate top defensive pairing that they can use in key defensive situations. So they don't have to rely on Bergeron being used in a high percentage of D zone starts.
I think where the comes in, is with some of the fans not realizing the situation, and that using Couturier as a key defensive forward, gave them the best chance to win. Give the coach a better lineup, and more tools to deploy in certain roles, and then Couturier might see better situations.

Do players even come out the other end of the playoffs looking like Keith Primeau in 2004? Man did that guy get beat up and still kept going.

I like that the Flyers always seem to be one of the last teams to move on from the times. Lindros' return to filly during warm ups I felt was classic. Was it Brashear who started something with Sandy McCarthy?
