I've seen this graphic before, and it loses me every time.
Doesn't help that I don't know who 75% of those players are.
I see Osi Vaananen though. That alone tips the scales to the Nords/Avs favor. - Giroux_Is_God
Some of the names can be easily missed. There are a TON of quality depth forwards and D men there. The kind of guys that win playoff rounds |

So... who's everybody rooting for in the east and west in the playoffs? - benjichronic
West: Chicago
I want Timonen to get a cup and the Flyers to get another 2nd round pick.
East: Ottawa
Mainly cause it will piss off Montreal and Toronto fans!

He's a really poor fascimile of Claude Julien, especially the constant obsession with team fitness. - Tomahawk
Chief is or Nolan is?
I was thinking that I would gladly take nolan behind the bench |

Honestly, Farwell has no one to blame but himself. The Flyers were playing hard and starting to come together down the stretch under Bill Dineen in 92-93. Firing Dineen and replacing him with Terry Simpson was a horrible move and that, as much as anything, cost Farwell his job. - BiggE
Farwell has Jay Snider to blame. For gutting his team and stripping assets to add Lindros.
Simpson was a dumb move, but at the same time, Jay made the Lindros deal, and that left Farwell less bullets in the gun |

Yeah, they probably make the playoffs sooner, I'd agree with that. My point was just that, other than Forsberg, they didn't give up any assets that were remotely irreplaceable to acquire a franchise center. - BiggE
Thibault for Roy.
Yes, I know that there's no guarantee the Flyers get Thibault or that Montreal trades him to the Flyers. But yeah. |

Yeah I mean being 21 years old, these guys aren't exactly players I remember or recognize since most of them are depth guys. |

Zero interest in Nolan. Might as well keep Berube. I want somebody who recognizes that the process is worth as much, if not more, than the result. |

I think Matt O'Connor is going to be headed to Europe. Whatever stock he had dropped like it was October 1929. - MBFlyerfan
Definitely a future Leighton. Or possible a very present Leighton. |

So... who's everybody rooting for in the east and west in the playoffs? - benjichronic
Want to see Timonen get his name on the Cup. Other than that, not rooting...gonna watch and see what happens without expectation.

I remember when some people were saying that contract was a steal for the Flyers. That Carter and Richards shouldn't have signed those long term deals because they would be severely underpaid after a few years due to the cap increasing.
Flyers were one of the leaders in lifetime contracts under Holmgren including the Ilya Bryzgalov 9 year contract disaster. - Flyers_01

Nope. Ed was uninvolved with the team, Jay Snider was the mastermind behind adding Lindros. |

As I've said before, Berube is, IMO, a perfectly fine, average NHL coach.
I want better than average! - BiggE
In order for coaching to be a real positive factor, I think you have to have a guy who's got the spirit of trying new things, breaking new ground, and not afraid to zig when others are busy zagging.
In Chief, all I see is current coventional theory... there's nothing special at all there. |

I just don't believe that Ed didn't have at least one finger stirring the pot.
I just don't think he can help himself |

He may have, but Jay was the pointman. He's the one that handled the call with Marcel Aubut, he is the one who helped present the team's case before the arbiter, and he's the guy who was doing the interviews. |
