You don't think Provorov won't be there at 7th or 8th? To MacDonald's credit, he's 28, skates well and can move the puck up ice The Canes mix of defenseman are either entering their mid 30's or still have yet to reach their prime by being in their early 20's. I think the Canes need something to balance out that mix. At least a guy in his late 20's with more potential that is.

I really think the top 9 would fill out nicely if they can just add a decent LW. I'm hoping they find a college/European FA, but I'd be fine with giving PEB a chance in that spot as well.

I don't think anyone is going to give up anything significant for MacDonald. He was overpaid last summer and just had a bad season. Flyers would be lucky to find a taker if they were willing to give him away.

I wouldn't underrate the excitement we should have with Morin going pro. Bill believes Morin to be ready right now and if this proves to be the case, he's within the mix to call up. I don't expect him to win a job out of camp but the wait is almost over.

I don't love Cousins, but I'd like to see him given more of a chance to play with skilled players. He played his games with White and Rinaldo for the most part.

Maybe they roll with a line of Laughton-Cousins-Simmonds. Personally, I think Laughton would be the better center, but I fear Cousins doesn't really have the speed or size to play wing in the NHL.

I still think the Flyers should have been experimenting with more of these things down the stretch when the games didn't matter. They'll enter next season knowing very little about Laughton and Cousins ability to play wing
