Ppl will laugh at this... But I have a feeling that u see Hodgson as the RW on the top line
Not BC he's better than Ennis, but if he's on the 2nd line it just too slow
They need to find a balance
A good coach is gonna put Cody in a position to score, & if he's on the top line like I suggest... 25+ goals
That's my bold prediction for next season
If he's 3rd/4th line, he's lucky to get 15/25/40pts - jdfitz77
This would be so much easier if we could get rid of one or both of Moulson/Gionta.

The fact people still want Hodgson playing a top 6 role baffles me. Am I the only one who still hasn't seen much of anything that makes me think "Man, this Hodgson guy can sure make a difference." in ANY zone since coming here? |

Well, I'm pretty sure he led the team in points last year |

This is true. He had 20-24-44 line.
Ennis was 21-22-43
Stafford had 34 points
Ehrhoff had 33
Myers and Girgs had 22 each
Those were our only players to get more than 20 points, and Hodgson led them all..
Excuse me? What drugs are you on? Hodgson had 13 points all year. And you want him on a top six role?

Last year, 2013-14. 20g24a 44 pts. Led team in scoring. I think the scoring leader should be considered for a top 6 role.

You said "Since coming here", I'm pretty sure that includes last year. Don't see why you're freaking out. |

going from "leading the team in points" to doing absolutely nothing in one year is a huge red flag. I understand not many people were gonna lead offensively this year, but it's like he didn't want to do anything. It was like watching Leino all over again.
But going from 44 points to 13? Just no. |

To me it seems he's the only one who did his job this year and bought into the tank
Other than Ennis during the last 30 seconds of the season (calling for pass, not trying to reach for pass, racing back to fall over in front of the open net and lose the puck.) |

You really ought to give up. It had as much to do with his minutes and who he played with as anything else. Of course he had a miserable year. But he was put in a position of having to have a miserable year.
Note: playing on the first line for the last month of the season, Johan Larsson still has basically the same stats Hodgson had playing with Jerry Damigo and Zac Dalpe. And Kaleta. |

I don't understand most people's thought process. Am I crazy? - awildmudkip

A little while back I heard an interview where Murray said Hodgson belongs in the top 6 which is why he's not scoring, but he doesn't interfere with Nolan so it wasn't his decision where to play him. So you're right and Murray's wrong?

Now for the left field proposal for Murray to pull off assuming that draft positions remain the same as they are with Buffalo picking first and Phoenix picking second:
Buffalo trades to Phoenix:
Reinhardt, Buffalo's other pick in the 1st round, Hodgson, Weber and 2nd round pick in 2017
Phoenix trades their 1st pick 2015 Jack Eichel and Mike Smith to Buffalo

I'm actually a little shocked the WGR poll shows 1/3 of the fans feel Nolan got a raw deal.
As far as I'm concerned, he got a raw deal during his first tenure with the Sabres.
Getting rehired in the NHL as a head coach and getting paid for 2 more years by the Sabres rights that wrong.
He knew the deal this time around that it would be a long shot to stay on with the team past this season because of what the team was going to be. |

I'm not the biggest Nolan fan ever, but I'm not exactly sure how anyone can say he didn't get shafted here.
Tim Murray made moves, several of them mind you, to make this team worse over the past 2 deadlines and 1 offseason.
He traded 3 good goalies (or goalies playing well) a 24 year old Myers, Stafford, Ott, bought out Christian Ehrhoff, signed over the hill veterans. His biggest acquisition was someone on IR for the season..... I mean come on.
This was the plan, and it worked. Nolan was a goner from the moment he was hired, and it was one of the reasons Buff19, myself and only a few others were against the hire from day 1. |

Yeah he needs to go.
And I'd honestly test the waters on an Ennis trade at the deadline, but not because I don't like him. I feel like he could be a very good piece on a team that's already playoff bound and it would be nice to get him some success. |

Doesn't affect the draft order. I believe its just how they finish in the standings at the end of the year. |

A) no comment
B) Apparently having dignity wins you Stanley cups now. Wish I would have known this before this year. |
