Can't wait for Wednesday's playoff games to start and excited to see what moves are made this summer by Benning.

Anyone else find it odd; the 2 years we won the President's Trophy (our true holy grail) we end up playing the defending Stanley Cup Champ, and the best 8th place seed and eventual Stanley Cup champ? This year we finish 8th overall and end up playing the lowest point producing qualifier for the playoffs this year.
I've said it before, and I know I will say it again... This (frank)ing league ! |

OK. Read somewhere that the conference finalists would get picks 27/28 and the SC Finalists get 29/30.
Funk. So (not to be all half glass empty but) if we lost last nights meaningless game, we would have been picking 19th instead of 23rd? Unless we make it to the Conference or SC finals? - Ronning4ever
Just looked at it again but you are correct it seems.
30 to the SC champ
29 to the runner up
27/28 to the other two conference finalists
*regular season division champs if not meeting the above criteria take the next highest picks
Remaining teams are placed by reg season point total.
Honestly thought the difference between 19 and 23 is slight though imo. |

18 goals and couldn't score a game winner, Biega scored 1 goal in his 7 games and it was a game winner. I find Matthias useless, he's the biggest body on the team and he's what 15th in hits on the team, and he wants a raise cause he had a career year 18G 9A |

He must have scored 20, i'm pretty sure I saw him referred to several times as a 20 goal guy..... |

Curious to see people's prediction's for Rd.1
My gut reaction (with no background research re: head to head match-ups)
Min def Stl
Nash over Chi
Winnipeg with the upset over Ana
Van taking Calgary in 5 close games.
In the East, i see Ott with the huge upset over Mtl in a back and forth 7 game series, TbL over Det
NyR sweeping Pitts in 4
and the Capitals knocking off the Islanders. Capitals are my pick to take the East. |

27 points is solid for a bottom 6 player but not even elite for a 3rd liner so anything over 3M will be almost as bad as the Sbisa deal. |

Oh boy...I'd much rather have those four spots...especially now that we don't have a 2nd rounder (because the rotations flip in the second round).
It's a tough one from a GM/coach perspective. Though you've got nothing to play for, you want your b-level players to get more time to shine...and guys like Miller to get some practice.
You end with Baertschi finally hitting the net, the twins in the top 10 in scoring, Vrbata having a career year and guys like McMillan getting his first point for the team...all good things for the GM looking better and the coach getting to use more players.
That said, you're slightly better off if they lose. The only good thing was that they knocked Calgary down another 4 spots for the second rounder.
And this of course all assumes that the team doesn't go on a tear... |

Stl, Chi, Win, Calgary (sorry folks)
Mtl, Tbl, NYR, Caps.
NYR vs Chi in the final...though I'm normally terrible with picks.

I'm surprised so many are counting the Blues out, I know Min has been hot but I don't give them an advantage in any position including goal-tending. Dubynk has been good but in a 7 game series I take Elliot/Allan over him.

This was fun from Pens thread:
"So let's see, in this thread:
Downey kills Lundqvist and Staal. Staal crosschecks Crosby into retardation, MSL gets knocked into next year, someone takes out Rick Nash and Fleury gets destroyed by Glass. Presumably Downey and Glass get suspended until 2018.
This may be the first time you hear this from a Devils fan, I truly hope all of your dreams come true! " |

I hope you're right about Winnipeg.
Would love to see Kesler's Ducks knocked out in the first round! |
