I'm going to lose my poop when that little bastard Gallagher takes a run at Hammond in the first game.

If that happens (or should I say 'when' because we all know it's going to), I'm dressing Neil and telling him to Kamikaze price promptly.

- Jordo

Gallagher has never injured or run a goalie. He sits in the crease and crosses the line for sure and he yaps. But your goalie is not in danger with him on the ice.

hammond even with price. Thats insanity. I also thing Montreals D is much better then Ottawa.

The Sens have to steal one game in Montreal. If they go down 0-2 I don't see them winning.

Let's see. Ottawa didn't get a couple of lucky bounces down the stretch - this has been 30 games of sustained excellence led by maybe the bets player in the NHL - Karlsson.

Lot's of people have lot's of opinions - that is mine, and I believe I will be proven right in the next 7 games.

Remember when Tukka Rask was the best goalie in the NHL and Bylsma was the top coach? That was another time. This is this time - and right now EK-Methot is the best pairing in the NHL

- tuna99

Tuna you were doing so well for a bit and then say something like this and completely slide back to square 1.

Karlsson and Methot are not even close to the best pairing in the NHL

Montreals d is more mobile. Emelin is the only physical d man but he doesn't take runs at anyone anymore. They won't do crushing hits like gryba and borowiki are going to try to do. I think the game has changed and you need good skaters in a long series.

Totally agree. I cringe every time the Gryba-Boro pairing is on the ice. They both can't skate well and every single game one or both take a stupid cross-checking/slashing/interference penalty.

Yes, they do a good job of blocking shots and clearing people out of the front of the net but like you said, the game has changed. You have to have guys that can skate and move the puck well.

I think the gryba/boro pairing will play a big role in this series
eller won't go anywhere near the Ottawa end

Eller hasnt been a factor all season long. Any production from him in this series should be considered a bonus. He's a decent 3rd line centre that will do a decent job shutting down some of ottawa forwards.

I would of loved to be in this blog and hear all the comments if that was Alexi emelin on mika zibanagad. Not saying it's a dirty hit, but to brag about it is kinda lame.

I think a lot of sens fans are taking the habs for granted here.

It'll definately be a great matchup and I'll be happy to see a Canadian team guaranteed a spot in the 2nd round of the east.

In terms of who has the the edge, I really feel neither do.

Although the sens have beaten Mtl in their previous meetings, Habs do have that extra motivation on their side (from the last playoff meeting)

While Hammond has been incredible of late he has never played in the playoffs before..and he'll be playing in the toughest building.

We're also facing the MVP/Vezina goalie of the league..not the same Price from 2013.

Don't know if it has been mentioned yet, but how will things go down when Neil and Phillips aren't dressed for a game in the playoffs? Do we just assume they're professionals and understand the reasoning - or throw a big stink?

Ya, TSN is turning into the toronto sports network. I get that toronto is their biggest market, but at some point you have to talk about teams that are relevant to kick off a show do you not?

Haha ya it's getting pretty stupid. Wouldn't want to talk about 5 canadian teams that managed to make the playoffs. Why would you do that? The leafs stuff is hardly news. Everyone knew they were cleaning house from about Christmas time.

Michalek coming back is really good news. He was playing great hockey when he went down. One more big body (with speed) added to line up.

Chris Nilan had a great Habs lunch show. He talked in a very skillful way about the problem faced by the Canadiens and how hard the matchup is with the Senators.

First, he said Ottawa is a big team especially on defence. In a seven game series size differential is really important. A bigger team leans on the smaller team and it kills their energy and will to compete.

Second, he said, Ottawa is mean, especially in their own end. They enjoy playing the body and they will punish (hit) Montreal forwards every opportunity they get.

Third, Ottawa has a lot of speed. Probably more speed than Montreal.

Nilan was not making a prediction on the final outcome of the series. But he was cautioning Habs fans who think an Ottawa matchup was good for Montreal. His opinion was Montreal ended up with the worst match possible.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter which team wins this series because the way I look at it the fans of both teams win. This should be a fantastic series of hockey games and I hope that each game is a nail biter right to the end.

There is no sense in arguing which team has the edge and getting bent out of shape - it will all play out over the next 10+ warm spring time days!

Hmm well a combined better than +40 since Methot came back 45 games ago....and Methot played at a pace for +40 over 82 games, which would have led the NHL.
