from the guy who's saying that karlsson/methot is the best pairing in the league. who only a week or so ago said that hammond should get votes for the hart trophy, and who said the same about stone a few days later.
- sensarmy_11

Being the best and being an MVP are different things - just ask Jose Thoedore. If there is a player who better exemplifies the MVP award then Hammond let me know.

Don't act like you're entitled to that. Ottawa has had to put up with getting invaded by Toronto and Montreal fans for years. Now there's a generation of Senators fans that were born after the team came into existence who can afford tickets now, and the organization can do whatever they want to try and give them priority.

If you want to see a game in Ottawa, I guess you'd better move.

- the_terror

Hey, imagine im a ticket scalper in ottawa. Perfect, now I eliminated the entire country outside of the ottawa area. How many friends do I know that have ottawa area credit cards? Probably quite a few. Oh there is a site called stub hub that I can sell tickets to anybody on? Maybe I can sell the Habs fans from montreal my tickets at twice the price now. Brilliant marketing sens

What's more childish? Them giving an opportunity to their home fans, the people who buy tickets to all the games, to buy playoff tickets before they go out to the masses, or whining about it?
- the_terror

Who is whining? I couldn't care less.

Maybe not having enough Habs fans in the CTC will be another excuse as to why you lost the series...

Therrien's Achilles Heel as a coach is he has to personalize everything - he insulted his own Pitt team when he took over to embarrass, he did the same in Montreal his first time around with the slash throat jesture, he motivates his players by asking them to take the game personally, it works for Junior players but it doesn't seem to work at the NHL level

He's more mature now and I doubt he tries to make it about the pride of your manhood versus Ottawa - didn't work last time he did it and it won't work now

Sure, and if you're a Montreal fan, those are the hoops you're gonna have to jump through to get a ticket for the game. Fill your boots dude, no one is stopping you. You wanna get all tearful about it, that's your prerogative. But there is exactly nothing about what the Senators did that is wrong.

Why isn't it an excuse? Injuries happen to every team.

You finished 2nd in the East. If you can't beat the 7th team then who's responsible?

The fact is, is that you won't come close to us and the excuse train is already running for you.

Patches is injured, Price is tired, PK isn't getting the calls because of his 'diving' profile. Etc etc... this is pathetic... You guys are making every excuse you can to try and make it look like an even series so that when you lose it won't be as much pie on your face. But, I'm not buying it. You will get crushed and the city of Montreal will be in uproar.

The first few posts you had i chalked your flare up to just stirring the pot, but the last few lead me to believe you have only watched sens games all season and have a very flawed take on the habs. I know you have more insight than the shiet you are posting....

And to spatso, i get you know a few things about hockey, and some of your views are out to lunch but hey so are mine some time and theres probably only a few guys on here that have the capability to talk systems or the nitty gritty about hockey. You are one of them. That said, your take on karlsson is a bit flawed as him being the best player in hockey. First off the guy is a wiz with the puck, skates like the wind and has excellent vision. But lacks in def toughness and cant pk or shadow plays for poop. Something subban can do very well. Also at this juncture subban and karlsson are almost at the same points but karlsson has carte blanche to join the rush and be less defensively responsible. Subban has a very short leash and does not get the same offensive luxeries. Is it not entirely plausible that subban would be far ahead of karlsson point wise if he had the same laxieties on the blue line and was also able to join the rush?

I'm not whining about it, just pointing out that it's hilarious that you have to block out an entire city so you can try to get as many sens fans to a game.

Every team uses playoff ticket sales as an opportunity to sell season tickets and ticket packages for the next season. They don't want tickets being bought out by scalpers or out of market resellers. It is just about business and long term sales.

Why would you want Karlsson killing penalties anyways? He plays so much that rolling him out there to kill penalties wouldn't make any sense.

that building is going to be full of Habs fans. there's nothing the organization can do, short of banning cheering for the opposition.

I live in Ottawa so I could buy tickets no problem. Will they have the jersey police there and escort me out of the buikding if I come with a Habs jersey?

That's not really what they did pal. They're offering those playoff tickets up as first priority to people who also pay thousands of dollars to sit in that rink on Tuesday nights when the Sabres or Panthers are in town. Why should they open things up to people from Montreal to make a trip up and dislodge the people who loyally support their organization.

Again, I get that there's a general consensus among fans of the leafs and habs that they're somehow entitled to stuff like this by virtue of supporting teams that have been kicking around for 100+yrs or whatever it is, but that entitlement is an illusion.

Homer much?

Sens equal or better in all categories except a "slight edge" in special teams?

Montreal has a better offence, montreal has better goaltending, and montreal has better coaching.

You are looking at the nice burst of momentum which got the sens into a wildcard, not at the body of work that got the habs to the top of the conference.

Get control of your excitement and listen to yourself.

Montreal has terrible offence, even worse if Max doesn't play....have you watched any hockey this year?

No, of course not. If you're ignorant and you do something dumb like pour a beer on a dude's head, then yeah you'll get kicked out. But it's a free country, you can wear your Habs jersey wherever you want. You just aren't allowed to come in and act like a piece of s**t.

Is like to do a study at a sens game when the Habs are in town. How many Habs fans are from ottawa and how many at from montreal? Not every Habs fan jumped ship when the sens got a team 20 years ago.

huh? i don't quite understand that logic. guys like Doughty, Weber, Subban, Suter all play big minuted and kill penalties. Karlsson doesn't kill penalties because the things he is great at aren't required on the PK. i don't think it makes him a lesser player, but he's not effective enough at that part of the game to risk injuring him on a shot block.

No, of course not. But you're getting 20yr olds into that rink now who were born in Ottawa, that never supported the Habs or leafs. The tide is turning. It was always going to take a full generation. Just watch.
