I only ask, because if Downie goes Downie for whatever reason, I don't want to hear any female doging about it...thats all. Like I said, i don't have an issue with it, the players are going to push things as far as the refs are going to let them.
The only time I see it brought up in these blogs, is when you Ranger fans come in here...honestly, I read these boards every day and that is the only time I ever see it. No one just randomly says hey...remember that time when Staal cross checked Sid in the back of a the head a few times...that was pretty cool huh. - Thorny

I bet we will hear it from a bunch of your brothers though...we will get the...you guys female doged when Staal did it, but are happy when Downie did it...then the Pens fans will say..you Ranger fans didnt have a problem with Staal doing it...and it will just go around and around with zero point in it. |

Downie can do whatever he wants as long as he doesn't take stupid penalties and hurt the team |

So you're trying to sway me on some conspiracy that 30 officials got together and the mood of the day was not call one spear. Please say yes. - blacksheep1
Have you seen what the refs called this year....but I will say, I have been watching Hockey since 83...and I saw a clipping call for the first time ever the other night. I couldn't believe it. |

You know he will. We can't score on the PP tho so maybe it'll be worth it |

Pens could be the first team ever in the NHL to decline a penalty, thats how bad the PP is. I have not seen a ton of Rangers games, but does Nash not get a lot of PP time? |

Yea first unit. There PP has gotten a lil better but it's quite frustrating most of the time |

He gets a lot of PP time but they put him in front of the net to screen the goalie when they should, imo, put him at one of the circles so he can skate into the slot and rip shots at the net. But instead they have MSL at one dot, who I will admit has a better one timer than Nash, and Stepan at the other dot who is a righty and AV loves rightys in that spot.
Overall, our PP suffers from passing around the perimeter too much and being too predictable. Just not a lot of movement. It seems like they're always looking for the backdoor tap in and they pass it from D to D 3 or 4 times and then from the point to the dot 3 or 4 times looking for a backdoor lane to open up before they either lose the puck or pass it out of the zone by mistake. |

I thought I read somewhere that he only averages like a minute of PP time a game, thats why I was curious. I will have to see if I can find the article. I saw he only had 6 PP goals, thats why I wasn't sure |

Just described the Pens PP...worst thing that has happen all season, is when Sid tries to go across Ice for the Dman sneaking in and they score...it makes him believe he can do it every time. The PP has been just awful, I have never seen a Pens PP be this bad. They give up shorties a lot too, with playing 4 forwards on the unit. I would beg for them to take Kuntiz off, but it will never happen. If for whatever Sid gets down low and off the half wall, I think the Pens will score...but that never happens anymore. |

No Letang is a huge hole on your PP. he's as good a QB as there is in this league. |

no letang will make this a much easier series for the rangers, but even when healthy, i wish that was true of letang. |

Wow, made a mistake and read some predictions, Rag fans are losing their minds over the "prediction" of an upset.
As much as I think its a long shot its still very possible.
They may have a point but damn, the over confidence is something that could only come from that stench filled poop hole.
I learned my lesson in 92-93 (that team was loaded on a 17 game winning streak and easily the best Penguin team of all time but...)anything can happen. Only a fool assumes an outcome.
This year's Rags team is good, but nowhere near a lock for anything, not even the second round. |

He is great at gaining the zone and moving the puck...but he cant not hit the net at all...this has plagued him his whole career. He will be in the slot and not hit the net. There was a time he was taken off of it. They will miss his breakout and zone entries, but Martin and DP are better on the PP, because they will shoot and more often than not, get it on net. The Pens PP was good to start the season, because teams haven't seen it, but when they saw it and figured it out, it has gone to ish. I saw a crazy stat, like the Pens won like 80% of the games where they played a team for the first time, dropped down to 54% the 2nd time they played a team and like 33% the 3rd time they played a team. Look at their record against the division and their record against the western conference, night and day. Teams figure the Pens out and they don't adjust. |

Even Jan Levin is upset about it. Really funny. They talk about annoying Pens fans and I skimmed a bunch of pages over there. Hardly any Pens fans. Meanwhile Rags fans are living over here. Like when my neighbors dog comes and sh!ts in my yard.

I'm from NY and I hate every NY team with a passion because the people are so conceited. This board won't be good until the series is over. Too many of the Scum Rags trolls on here. |

Did the ref award 15 yards and an automatic 1st down? |

For whatever reason, they abandoned the pp formation they used at the start of the year with Crosby and Malkin on opposite sides and 2 guys in front. Injuries changed who was available at times, but it's back to crowding the 2 stars on one side with little threat on the other. Then again Kunitz game just disappeared half way through the year.
And Letang is probably better offensively at ES than PP. His skills are more starting the rush or jumping up on the play. Doesn't have a great shot and his passes tend to never be in the wheelhouse for a one timer and the great skating doesn't help much on PP. |

This board has been really bad the last couple days. Too bad Pens fans just can't admit the Rangers are a great team and Ranger fans acknowledge injuries have completely derailed the Pens, and just talk hockey. Been impressed with how the Rangers reloaded with guys like Hayes and Klein playing such big roles with little preseason fanfare. Both teams fully healthy, this would have been an epic series. On paper I think both teams are better than last year and that went 7. That's hockey though, gotta get lucky with injuries to win it all. |

If both teams were fully healthy, I doubt they would be playing each other in the 1st round to be honest. |

I realize they're a good team. I think they'll probably come out of the east. I just really don't care to discuss them on our board. God forbid our blogger write a positive Pens blog about this series. That fanbase getting all butt hurt over RW's blog is comical. |

They want their respect cause they're finally a favourite in over 20 years... I agree...who cares... Go read a Rangers blog.... I never read theirs or slip into their comments, unless you're willing to give a bj to their team you'll be ridiculed out the door... Just like most blogs on this god forsaken site. What a pile of crap this place has turned into. |
