hey, what were the Penguin Corsi numbers in that blistering performance vs the powerhouse Sabres the other night with the playoffs on the line anyway |

I don't understand, are you guys going with the argument that you will beat the Rangers because you are a better Corsi team or are you saying you have no chance because of all your injuries.

Fancy stats aside, how close this series is will be largely determined on whether the Penguins can start getting some bodies back healthy. If Erhoff and Pouliott can't go, it could be really ugly. Hopefully a few days off will help whatever issue Malkin has too. |

The only number that mattered was the final score. |

I think the one big thing that's getting overlooked in this series is (frank) the Rangers. |

So, this season is Cup or Bust for the Rags, ain't it? It looks like you guys are favorite and all in Vegas. But, if you crash and burn, it will be a fun offseason for the team.

You probably are too obtuse to realize this but I'm not actually much of a fan of fancy stats when used as a sole predictor of outcome. I think most of us realize the Rangers are deserving favorites, but I sense a large feeling of entitlement and overconfidence this year from Rags fans, you know, the kind of stuff you usually needle us about. The Penguins have nothing to lose. They barely squeaked in and are injury riddled. The Rangers are supposed to win. They won the Presidents trophy, are relatively healthy and have a better goalie. It should be an interesting series. Sleep well knowing that if the Rangers fail, you will never hear the end of it. |

it will be one of the most disappointing things in team history if the Rangers don't win the Cup.
However, the Rangers will still be a very good team next year. Couple of salary issues this summer. But a blueline completely set, a year of keith yandle at a 2.625 mil cap hit which is just ridiculous. |

ever since TNT starting showing Shawshank Redemption 78 times a year people love to throw the word obtuse out. |

It's no whether you win or lose, it's about how well you execute the system. |

Its a great word. Much less boring than just calling someone a moron. And Shawshank is on more like 190 times a year. |

For some reason, I thought it was more than a couple. Also, Yandle - definitely a big name, but IMO he in on a regression path.

last year he had 53 points from the blueline, this year he combined for 52.
If you think it isn't an insane bargain in this league to have a defenseman capable of hitting 50+ points with a 2.6 mil cap hit I am afraid for you |

Yeah, but is 1.5 years of Yandle worth your top prospect in Duclair, a first rounder and John Moore? |

Should we address that the PDO and possession don't appear to be correlation as the Rangers had dips and rises in their possession but their PDO remained relatively the same and the Penguins PDO was at its lowest points when their possession was at its highest points. |
