Lol, i guess i should have clarified, but the qualifying offer is not going to be high which means it will cost a team very little if any compensation to sign him to one. Basically with the year he has had I would vernture a guess that a team would offer him one, but again i could be wrong and noone does. - did109
if they sign him for "very little" we'll match it, saving Hextall all that work!

One of the big things they wanted him to learn was how to play when he doesn't have the puck on his stick. Unfortunately watching can only teach you so much. I think he starts the year in the minors.
With Morin, keep in mind that in the Q he can simply bully guys. That's not going to be true in the pros, even the AHL. I think he needs some time to further develop myself. The last thing we need is another Luke Schenn - brought up too soon and confidence impacted. - TheGreat28
Maybe Luke Schenn was just never that good. |

I'm going to assume Hexy is going to wait until after the draft lottery to fire Berube.

But he was a top-5 pick. And we all know that a top-5 pick is a guaranteed superstar. |

I'll take that bet.
I think if he is fired it is this week. |

I'd think the new coach would want at least minimal input on the selections. |

Why would a team waste their time making an offer sheet to a player that would offer a low salary, that the Flyers would match in a milsecond? More importantly, why would Del Zotto sign it? |

At what salary do we even enter the "this is an issue" realm? $3.5m AAV? That's first round pick territory, as far as offer sheets go. The Flyers are in a fine spot with MDZ. |

Oh sorry, let's get the "prototypical Flyer" Lawson Crouse. He's big and...um...he's big. I mean, he isn't an exceptional skater, and he doesn't really create offense on his own, but yes, he is big. |

He's not very bright?
I hoping some inebriated GM offer him 3.4 per. I'd like to consider a first and a third next year. |

I don't see an Offer Sheet to Del Zotto as much of a threat. |

A young player can be hurt by being rushed to the NHL. - MJL
Sure but not necessarily. I hope he has a great camp and pre-season and it's an easy decision. As a fan, I'm desperate for excitement. I think he'll bring that.

We don't. Just judging by the (admittedly, fairly limited) stuff I've seen and read about him. Seems like a bad JvR. |

Or sign an offer sheet from another team ...so yeah sitting out the year wont happen. - did109
At worst, he'll play in another league, like Giordano did. |

Being a part of the Rangers thread has made you soft - PhillySportsGuy
I've always been less of a hater generally. I can hate effectively during any game or series. But it isn't bone deep. I think moving 7 times in my formative sports years makes me flexible. |

Fair point, but he already has two more development seasons than LSchenn ever got. |

He'll just go to arbitration and fight it. If he loses he'll just play hard next season and head to free agency as a top 4, 27-year-old puck moving defenseman with mobility.
He's going to have the same opportunity next year. Flyers are unlikely to do much upgrading on the blue line |
