I didn't say that you said I did. You should still go back and reread my post though. It's pretty great. - BulliesPhan87

I think Looch is capable of a lot more than Ward or Stewart... but you're right. He just doesn't fit here with Simmonds being the beast he is. Lucic as a Flyer is a pipe dream for me. - ThirdEye
I agree that Stewart and Ward aren't anywhere clear what Lucic and Simmonds are. I view them as a cheap addition to the second unit of our PP and a nice fill in if Simmonds ever did have a long term injury next season. As much as I would like more speed and skill in our line up, I believe we could become bigger, gritter and tougher. |

Last summer I was hoping that lines would be:
schenn giroux Vorachek
Akeson Vinny Simmer
Read courts Rj
PEB Laughton Raffl
Rinaldo
coburn schenn
Streit Amac
grossman MDZ
Schultz
What a crazy 7 months. Really hope we can ice a balanced lineup this year. |

I put myself in Ron Hextall's shoes. I'm not sure how you can evaluate this season, see how it played out, and not make changes. One of the easiest changes to make is a coaching change. I believe one is going to be made. - MJL
I am not disagreeing with the thought they should make a move -- there are multiple reasons they should -- but man...I don't know.
And I am one of those who usually feels there is always a price to pay for missing the playoffs for Ed Snider. Someone always pays a price
I just will hedge my bets on this one until it happens, which is definitely not my norm |

I'm selling framed prints, just fyi. It'd make a great wedding gift or consolation prize for an NHL former head coach. |

i don't think he should be canned for missing the playoffs
i think he should be canned for being a Richard in the media to some of our best players and for refusing to make changes to the pk and to the 2nd pp until it was too late |

Here is one question I ask myself, what reasons are there for bringing Berube back next season? What are the dangers of bringing him back next season?
I'm supportive of Berube, and think he's getting a raw deal, but that's part of being a coach. Good coaches get fired. Coaches way better then Berube have gotten fired. We can debate the individual issues forever. Bottom line is it is a result oriented business.

A coach only has so many bullets to use. What changes should he have made on the PK?

And for not scratching a clearly ineffective Umberger at any point before he was shut down, especially if you had a clue he was hurt

Saw Lucic play live this year in Calgary in Feb and was really unimpressed with him. i watched him without the puck and he has very poor body language away from the play. I dunno it was one game but he seemedike a angry dog ****er when things aren't going his way or if it's a "low intensity" game. Skates back to bench slow, always slamming his stick, and always giving that "you screwed up look" to his team mates |

Taking Umberger off sooner would have been a good start

They had LTIR room to play with if they wanted to do something; VDV found his way up and was effective
They didn't exactly kill themselves in addressing that obvious problem

He'd also get more penalties and suspensions in O&B. |

It wasn't about cap space, it was about who the coach had available to him. If he removes a player from the lineup, he needs to have a replacement. Hextall was not going to bring up a young player if they weren't ready to come up. The veterans that were available to come up, weren't a better option.
The only thing I see that could've been done sooner, was to elevate Bellemare and Vandevelde as the top forward PK pair sooner. In the past, Couturier and Read had been so good, but Read's physical condition affected him.

If the vets weren't a better option, the GM should have looked around the league for a better option
At no point should the excuse "the organization doesn't have another option" be acceptable
Hextall's job is to find other options, if what be brought in wasn't good enough

First remarks about Mason's record and now a knock on Couturier for his decisions to make Couturier start most shifts in the defensive zone. He's a meat head and he needs to be let go today! I'm tired of listening to him. - SuperSchennBros
You know, Giroux was something like 12th in the league in most D zone starts. Just saying.
