Literally the only team that I don't want to win the lottery is Boston
...although the way the NHL treats them I wouldn't be surprised...
so if they win I propose informing the FBI that Lucic and Chara are ACTUALLY Neanderthals and should be arrested and placed in custody in the best interest of science

I like him hes a bit streaky for my taste. But think he not a guy who can score on his own. heck even Moulson cant do it on his own. As you can see in the Peg you put him with some good players and he produces. - hubie
No doubt, I'd never consider him a driving point on a roster, but with some talent with him he can put up solid numbers.
Early this season when the top line was hot, thought was Girgensons helped drive that line to perform. Then that line got cold.
Late in the season swap Larsson into that spot and they got "hot". Who knows what the deal is with that line - good news es we all know it won't be the same makeup going forward. |

I'm not a Stafford hater. 28 isn't too far off from what I consider to be a "norm" from him (22-ish type guy). If he were to be a Sabre in the coming years he'd have a good chance of being a 25 goal type of guy with the (hopeful) talent that will be on the roster. - stashu
I've been saying for years that Vancouver should trade for him...
He'd score 35+ playing on a line with the Sedins
He's definitely one of those guys that plays to the level of the talent around him.
That's why he has been so frustrating over the years. We've seen him be REALLY good, and HORRIBLY awful |

Im going with Edmonton 1st and Toronto 2nd as the two teams that Id hate winning it. Have a bad feeling Zona will win it cause Bettmon wants nothign more than hockey to work in the Desert |

If the Sabres don't win the lottery, hopefully it's a team from the West. |

I'm thinking Arizona wins it next year. They are basically where the Sabres were last year. Plus they have that kid from AZ who is supposed to be a stud in that draft... |

94/95 was a strike season of 48 games. The cap wasn't put in place until 05/06. - dadeadhead
What the hell am I thinking then, or did i word it incorrectly. A heavy tax on high salary, aka a cap. |

The problem is Kane hasn't proven he can do it on his own consistently either.
It could be a great trade in the end, I just wish it was for someone without the risk/baggage |

Nolan was defiant in the end and had this team on the verge of blowing a 2 year plan. I'm glad he's gone. Cute little hard working coach, but not the right man for a franchise on the verge of a dynasty. The last thing I want is him benching Eichel for some nonsense reason and creating a rift in the organization. - puppa on you

Who has Kane had as a center that is as good as McDavid or Eichel project to be?
I don't think he's ever had a true center. Maybe that will help him calm down? |

Ive been getting a kick out of all these other teams fans in garths thread hiding their massive envy of the sabres position behind "integrity" and "respect"
There are two facts here:
The sabres successfully completed year 3 of a rebuild. Mass exodus of the remaining pieces that wont be included going forward, and finishing at the bottom of the standings for hopefully the last time.
With the firing of nolan Murray has closed the book on a blatant, successful tank job. Quite possibly the most impressive tank job in sports history.
Not afraid to consider it the latter every time its brought up either. Hopefully its equivalent to spitting in the face of everyone who crys about integrity, and playing to win. The players played to win now, Murray is playing to win the future.
In reality this was simply year 3 of a 3 year rebuild.

Kane's a great player, with a pea for a brain.
I think A coach like Ted Nolan would have been exactly what he needed, to keep his poop in a pile. |

Its more likely it would lead to clash and ultimately a trade request |

Can't say I know anything really about WPGs roster to know, but if Eichel is what he's being built up as, there's no way he's played with anyone that good as his C |

I agree, who would hte best pivot in the Peg be the last couple of years? off the top of my head their best forwards are wingers.
Eichel in the line he joined almost doubles their point totals |
