pretty tough to take on Schultz. He's guaranteed 3.7M+ unless they go to arbitration. For a 3rd pairing guy who still hasn't established himself as much thats hefty. Think a team would have to be in love with him to give him a shot

his offensive instincts, age and the fact that some of his issues could be explained through lack of help/too much expected with no insulation- 3.7 is far from tough to move.

not really strongly arguing they should or shouldnt deal him (i personally dont think its a wise move.....), but i dont think it would be that tough of a sell.
getting someone with his upside in return would be the real difficult part.
id assume if mact wanted to go that route, hed accept a solid all around defender minus the ceiling but also minus the boneheaded defensive miscues.

not pointing fingers at you by any means, but id also assume if he was unloaded as so many want, those haters would also be pissed when mact only get a pedestrian 4-5 guy in return.
and then if schultz went on to be a perennial top 20 defensive scorer? more fuel
