Yak led the Oilers in shots this season, just edging out Nuge. Imagine what his shot totals would have looked like with a completely Eakinsless season. - freelancer
Imagine how many shots he'd have if he actually hit the net on a regular basis |

I don't see Bachman coming back. Heard something that he wants to be out East. Add that with him losing his job to Brossoit and i think he looks elsewhere.
I don't know who they'll really target at this point to be honest. The really need a vet that has shown the ability to stay calm in a poop situation. I'm no fan of Cam Ward, but he'd be someone I'd try acquire. Could be a way to dump Nikitin as well as I don't see many lining up for Ward's salary. - Lahey
Go for Greiss. He's cheap and can outperform the shat that is being iced right now. |

We really need at least one guy who is a legit NHL starter though. I don't really have an issue with getting Greiss or Ranta or Talbot or Jones, but not one of those guys is anymore proven than Scrivens was. Scrivens playing 20-30 games is probably a lot better for us and him.
Our whole team is like that though. Most guys are playing over their heads. |

They said the same about Scribbles. How about they get a legitimate goalie instead? Like Dubnyk. |

.908 in 20 games? no thanks.
Cam Talbot is a better option. Niemi a better option but you'll have to overpay (5mil for 4 years). Or if the salary cap stays low maybe try and trade for a 5+ million starter like a Crawford |

Thoughts? - LeftCoaster
Apparently both Roy and jokinen were reached out to and declined. It wasn't until Roy was waived and out of options that he came.

Greiss gets lit behind this defence. So does talbot.
Interested in either for cheap cheap, but think we should be setting our sights higher |

Honestly put Price in there and I bet he's no where near the vezina candidate that he is in MTL. This team simply gave up too many quality chances and eventually it gets to a goalie. Granted our goalies have let us down, but the high quality chances in the slot numerous times a game have to stop before this team goes anywhere. Even with the team being better with Nelson these lapses still happen and Nelson has eluded to this in post-game comments. |

Forget about Yak. MacT should get a raise, he's the best! |

Uh, ok, except that I wasn't being sarcastic, so not quite sure why the Clarkson chirp?

Good signing for the Oil. Now to sign Roy to a two year deal. - hunter3333
2yr 2.5 million is the max I'd do. 1.25/yr |

It was tough this year, but MacT needed to get someone and didn't. At some point we need to overpay to fill holes. Be curious what happens this year with deals to fill holes after swinging and missing at Free agency.
Biggest miss in the NHL this year. December first this 35 year old vet was signed and put up 34pts in 58 games, |

I kind of imagined that...on pace for 46 points over 82 games using Nelson Solo numbers. Love that he's not just a high percentage scorer. The volume bodes well for future scoring. |
