Watch when Dorsett throws top players off their game in the playoffs and tell me he is over paid. This fan base drooled over OTT Neal and other players of that ilk. We now locked one up for four years.

Lucic Backes Ladd Simmonds type players are not a dime a dozen players, that is why very few teams have one

It might only be a small sample size of Dorset doing this so you better record it so you have a reference while female doging about him all summer long

How many cats do you have? How long are you out of the house?

The people I know with content indoor cats actually treat them like dogs. When the owners are home they play with the cat until they are worn out. The cats end up associating play-time with owner-time. When owners are out it's sleep and rest time.

It's hard because most cat owners are the opposite; they like the quiet time with their cats, sitting and petting while watching TV, etc. Cat starts to associate owners with rest and relaxation. And when owner is out it's 'crazy' time.

When I had my cat I would keep her favorite toys and then give them to her when I left the house. Her favorite toys were a rolled up ball of tinfoil and a drinking straw. Very simple but effective, especially on a hard floor surface. They will spend hours playing with those two simple toys.

Very few other teams have their two star players getting 21 and 25 hits in a season. Most other teams their star players are at least 50 plus hits in a season. Reason why we need a physical force in the top 6. Considering Bonino is the second line center and he may have not even had more hits then either of them. So add in Sven who isn't going to hit anyone and you have 4 players that don't hit. Our 3rd and 4th lines can't hit for them while they aren't on the ice.

Speaking of cats, any way to get them to stop chewing on cords? We've gone through about 6 cellphone chargers and they have both started chewing in electrical cords. We bought a spray, but they don't care. Both cats are indoors and the wife is 100% against them being outdoor cats.

Rub them with Cayenne pepper. We had the same problem and it works like a charm.

Dorsett and Kassian . Also coming up in a few years Virtanen and Cassels. Maybe guys like Pedan if he makes the club, and Sbisa will fight

Hank the goon

People often underestimate the Sedins. They are very adaptable and know their roles. When they came into the league their role was shutdown and since they were not overly physical, they relied on possession to shut down other teams. Then their roles changed to scorers and they adapted and only focused on outscoring other lines against them and have been very successful over the years. Now they know that their roles are declining and very soon they will be on bottom 9 lines and no longer relied to be the scoring line and since their speed is also declining they are now starting to play with grit.
IMO a perfect 3rd or 4th line where they can school most 3rd and 4th lines in the league but also be able to stand up to any rough plays. Genius these swedes are.
I predict a 2 year contract after this one expires at 3rd line pay.

Only problem is they will divert that destructive attention to something else. Got to get them thinking different...

I really don't think it's hate over logic. The Canucks aren't the same hated team they were 4 years ago, they don't flop around and try and draw penalties and they are as skilled. Most of the comments I've heard that are from guys picking cgy are either because they don't think van is that good anymore due to age, or they think cgy is too young to realize they shouldn't be there yet and will play with a fire. I personally think injuries on either back end could play a huge role as both teams are not equipped to handle their 7/8 guys in the lineup and be successful

Either way this should be a coin flip and one hell of a series

- Redmile247

Prett much spot on here. It's a 50/50 series where a bad ounce or or bad call may decide it. Can't see either team running away with it.

Where Calgary will stuggle is with WD rolling 4 lines at them...the Flames just don't hae the depth or the matchup status to counter. Where Van will struggle is with Calgary's mobile yet very creative defense. If Gio gets back in look out. Plus Cagary's speed might be more of an issue than people realise. Goaltending is pretty even IMO. Lack has been solid but is leaky as is Hiller. It very well could be Ortio vs Miller when all is said and done.

I do think Van is slightly better on paper but that don't mean s**t now. I will say Van should have this series in 6-7 but with Calgary's work ethic and conditioning plus a few bounces WILL go their way and it could be a series deciding bounce.

Good luck to both teams.

I feel hits stat is the most useless stat in hockey.
1. The hits are only recorded by home team. Biased on most nights.
2. Hits are not separated by the severity of it ( a bump by Semin or Rome laying out Horton)
3. Finishing checks are not considered hits.
4. You only need to hit if you are chasing plays. (if the player/ team plays great positioning or possession then there is no need to hit) Look at Tanev/ Hammer/ Lidstrom...
5. In playoffs finishing checks are way more important that hits. Checks are relentless. Dump into the corner and then forcheck and finish the check. After 5 hard checks that d going back will look over his shoulder and might make a mistake in the play resulting in a goal. This is different then hitting and way more effective.

Truly this is the only argument to make.
Ever watch an oilers broadcast. Matt Hendricks (whom is a great hitter and probably their best player imo) gets more hits tallied to the sheet than he really gets. Way over blown and bias.

I predicted Van in 4, I will stick to it. We have home ice advantage and we were one of the best road teams this season. I am not saying we are going to blow them out in all the games, it will be a hard earned 4 wins.

Hitting is important from play to play, the number of hits a player get per season or hits per team is useless.

10 of the 16 teams in the playoffs are ranked 30th,29th,28th,27th,24th,23rd,22nd,20th,21st,19th in terms of hits, including most peoples favorites the Rangers, Lightning, Hawks and St. Louis.

Anh, Was and OTT are 9th, 10th and 11th. NYI are 1st and the Pens are 6th.

Hitting is important for a successful team but associating the # of hits with meaningful hits doesn't work.
