I agree. Ghost and Morin seem like very confident players. I get the feeling a few mistakes aren't going to rattle them.
I think it's about the mindset of trying to win now too. It's easier to break in defenseman when you aren't worried about winning each game - PhillySportsGuy
if ghost and morin arent full timers by the all star break i might be done |

I really am worried that the Flyers will be too hesitant in letting our prospects play. As it stands right now, if we include Gudas and MDZ, that's 8 "veteran" defenseman signed next season and 6 past this season. At some point, they're going to have to let the kids play and learn, otherwise all the prospect depth in the world won't matter. - jmatchett383
I have the same concerns, which is why I question the Schultz signing. |

I wonder what Scott Laughton thinks of all the poop talking of Couturier by Berube. Does he see it as an opportunity to come in to camp and grab the 2C role, or he is worried that they are going to give him 40% Off. Zone starts and the highest QoC on the team as a 21 year old next season and then publicly criticize him when he doesn't crack 40 points? |

I don't see a problem with giving both of them a full year in the AHL. Giving that team a better chance to succeed will help all of the prospects (drafted and undrafted under 23s) gain more confidence in their abilities. Having a successful farm team will do wonders for the future of the big club. |

For my money, I liked the Lindros/Brind'Amour/Hawerchuk/Otto combination. - jmatchett383
Great comparison but the point still remains that these players you've named had such balanced games (roles), they put Giroux, Couturier, Laughton and Bellemare to shame. |

Hagg and Ghost are the only two that should see time next year. Hagg is much closer than Ghost. I only really say Ghost because Hextall said himself he has an outside chance of making the club out of camp. This is an injury call up anyway, we dont have spots for these kids yet. |

I think Ghost makes the team and plays outta camp. People will forget about Streit at the point once that kid gets some games under his belt. |

You really think so? He missed so much development time last year
I wish that wasn't the case, but I just find it hard to believe, from what I saw when he was called up, that he could be ready at the start of the season |

Based on what I took from Hextall's interviews yesterday is, he's not against any of our youth playing next season. I really felt like he made himself perfectly clear. However, if you consider what the roster currently looks like, it would be a little tough to fit any of them in.
Just a few weeks ago, Bill mentioned that he felt Morin was ready. Again though, he'll have to earn a spot if a spot ever opens up. |

If any of the young guys are good enough and ready Hextall will make room. Hopefully for more picks. |

Of the top 7-8 picks how many would play day 1 in the NHL for the Flyers? Obviously McDavid and Eichel. Others? |

ob says they all need 6-7 years of seasoning, especially Eichel and Mcdavid. Patience is key. |

When you consider that Giroux is the top line center, Couturier is in more of a 3rd line checking role and Bellemare is in a more suited 4th line energy role, who was the constant centering the second line? Laughton was tried there and not only was he not good enough, he wasn't able to grow there due to a concussion. So once we were out of it, why not try Vinny at center? Even Brayden Schenn saw a little time there. I mean, if your already out, your out. |

I'm sorry, but Wheels isn't the answer
That doesn't mean Laughton is, or anyone else currently on the roster
But Wheels is not the answer at 2C
