I agree. Ghost and Morin seem like very confident players. I get the feeling a few mistakes aren't going to rattle them.

I think it's about the mindset of trying to win now too. It's easier to break in defenseman when you aren't worried about winning each game

A losing team is not a good environment for young players to play in. Neither is rushing them to play in the NHL when they aren't fully ready. If there are any doubts, young players should go back to juniors, or to the AHL.

I really am worried that the Flyers will be too hesitant in letting our prospects play. As it stands right now, if we include Gudas and MDZ, that's 8 "veteran" defenseman signed next season and 6 past this season. At some point, they're going to have to let the kids play and learn, otherwise all the prospect depth in the world won't matter.

I wonder what Scott Laughton thinks of all the poop talking of Couturier by Berube. Does he see it as an opportunity to come in to camp and grab the 2C role, or he is worried that they are going to give him 40% Off. Zone starts and the highest QoC on the team as a 21 year old next season and then publicly criticize him when he doesn't crack 40 points?

Vinny's speed is diminished, and his defensive ability is average, at best. He doesn't carry the puck that well.

The Flyers system demands that a center be able to do these things -- Chief's right in that Vinny shouldn't be playing center in this system

I think Ghost makes the team and plays outta camp. People will forget about Streit at the point once that kid gets some games under his belt.

It's going to be a considerable amount of time until Gostisbehere makes people forget about Streit at the point. As in years. Streit was a 50 point defenseman this season.

ob says they all need 6-7 years of seasoning, especially Eichel and Mcdavid. Patience is key.

You did miss the point. With a week left and nothing left to play for, who cares? Many around here suggested Emery play the rest of the season with a week left because he gives a lesser chance to win.

yeah i think that press conference was planned for some time....i wouldn't be surprised either way. i would be rather disappointed if we keep chief and lose out on a better long-term guy as a result
