He's no Lawson Crouse
- Jsaquella

So what's the knock on Lawson Crouse? He strikes me as a player we could use.

Tippett's never been to a SCF either. I keep reading the LA guys (Blogs and MSM) and they are adamant Sutter isn't getting fired. On guy said Sutter could burn down the arena and run over all the players with his car and not be fired.

I have no interest in Nolan-he seems like a slightly better version of Berube.

Tippett strikes me as the same game changer Hitchcock and Laviolette were for this team. The Problem is Tippett has had terrible teams but still managed to make the most with them with a pretty decent turn around.

Sutter shouldn't get fired. I find it unreliable and unacceptable behavior by a group that simple underachieved and can't seem to own up to it.

You might be right about Nolan.

- SuperSchennBros

Exactly what I like about Tippett. When he had good teams they made noise in the POs, when he had bad teams, they still were competitive. If sutter was available...

If they didn't just have Berube, I'd be more open to Nolan

Nope, both are solid prospects.

Bradleyc4 is extremely anti-Crouse

They don't have to fire him... the players will just keep barricading the locker room door

That's his opinion. I'd take Crouse but not at 7 or 8

They're going to have lots of turnover out there; they can still get another year or two out of Sutter

Bet Lombardi wakes up kicking himself that he didn't use that compliance buyout on Richards

Safe pick, but possibility of a low ceiling. He's not seen as a guy who will make others better, but who can elevate his game when used with better players. Productivity hasn't been as good as you'd like, but there's mitigating factors, too.

He's under contract, at least according to Panaccio & Dave Issac, for next season, so no need for him to be re-signed.
- Jsaquella

If they want to make a statement that he's not a lame duck it is not unusual for them to extend a coach who is on the last year of a contract.

Awful move!! You already won your Cups. This group isn't getting any younger. Terrible, just terrible.

The presser will reiterate that Berube is going nowhere. Which isn't actually true... But they just want Vinny to believe it.
- hereticpride

It's such a conundrum

They should absolutely get rid of them both, but to me, they are in such a tough spot with Wheels and his agent calling them out to make a move on Chief

You do Berube right now, you really need to have Wheels' exit lined up, too

Not really. He's a good, all around player. Decent skater, physical, plays PK & PP, got a nasty streak.

He's going to be a good solid NHLer, but might never be more than a good third liner in terms of production. Could also end up being a JvR type with a better all around game and nasty streak.

Yeah but JvR I feel is a legitimate top line winger.

Crouse could be that, but there's concerns because his junior production hasn't been that great.

I prefer others, but would not hate it. I do agree with OB that he's a bit of a reach at 7.

If Course is still on the board when the Flyers pick with the Tampa Bay Pick, would you go with him?
