Kind of missed the point. The question was rhetorical to refute the poster basically saying that he was fired. I don't believe he was fired. - MJL
Obviously I'm just speculating here but I believe he was pushed to his limits and quit, which is not that far away from being fired. |

It was a stupid penalty, but I'm not sure he should have been thrown out for that - PhillySportsGuy
I'm of that same opinion. And those crying for a suspension really need to get a hold of themselves. |

When Hextall puts together a Cup contending team they'll all be singing a different tune. - Scoob
Are you implying that you really think Hextall is our savior? |

To address the point made previously that the team missed the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years, so nobody can be criticized. .... - MJL

Why would a team fire a goalie coach when the goalie has a top five save percentage? - MJL
all i heard is that he snapped on the wrong person...not sure what to make of that |

Something happened obviously. Firing to me means that the employee was either bad at his job, or insubordinate in some way. I don't think that's the case. I think there were some philosophical differences that Reese didn't care for, and he lobbied for that to be addressed, and when it didn't meet his satifaction, I think he decided to walk. Again, speculation on my part. |

I think he knows what he is doing.
I think he inherited a huge mess when considering the roster and the contracts.
I think it will take time to get out from under the mess.
I think he will get the team out from under the mess.
So, to answer your question, yes. |

I really find it odd that Hextall has voiced that he does not want Mason participating internationally for Canada now to allow his knee to heal. |

It's an HB staple. Something most of us have been guilty of at one time or another. |

Not to let the knee heal, but to rest it. If it wasn't healed to the point of being able to play, he wouldn't have been playing for the Flyers down the stretch. |

I'm just glad that, if you're a former Norris winner, you are allowed to outright tackle a guy on a partial breakaway in OT of a playoff game. - jmatchett383
hahahah I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. That should've been a penalty or a shot or something. Then jones gets called for tripping two minutes later on some non sense lol I don't think there is any other team that can come back so easily from a 3-0 deficit. And poor kimmo... he's kinda becoming a whipping boy. Hardly getting any ice time either.

I think he's much better suited to dig this team out of its hole than Homer. But I'm not quite sold that he's our savior yet. His evaluation of Umberger is worrisome. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't of just unloaded Hartnell to the Coumbus or someone else for just a pick. Columbus would of most likely of bought out Umberger, so why not just wait to sign him to a cheaper deal after? I'm not a huge fan of the Schultz signing so far. The Mason drama is worrisome as well. If Berube does not get fired this off season I will be further worried.
Overall, he seems like a guy that could grow into the GM we need. Its something that's new to him though so I'm sure there will be growing pains we will have to endure with him. But as of right now, I don't think I can label him as our savior. |

It would be if you make the assumption that management is/was wrong.
It would not be if you make the assumption that management is/was right.
We here on HB will never know what really happened. |

It still doesn't make sense to me. If Hextall thinks he needs to rest his knee, that should of started when they were officially eliminated. |
