What does everyone think a healthy umberger's potential is from here on out? Can he contribute? Or is everyone thinking that he's kind of a worn out, washed up, old man. - benjichronic
He can be marginally better than he was. He could go from a borderline healthy scratch to borderline 3rd liner. |

“Chief has been great with me,” Mason said, calling Berube by his nickname. “There been a lot of speculation in papers and everything but Chief and I have never had a problem. I think we have a great relationship.” - J35Bacher

I find this sign ridiculous. I would be surprised actually if it was even still on the wall. I'm sure Bill would know.
It definitely formulates a hostile message from team to players. I understand that in order for a team to be successful everyone has to be on the same page, but there are better ways to do it. - MBFlyerfan
I like it. Shows everyone is equal. I think they should really stick to that saying though lol like someone said earlier, this should have applied to vinny, rinaldo, umberger, read, schenn(s) when they weren't producing, or when they looked invisible on the ice.

I personally don't like the paint scheme on the wall behind the sign. That's probably Berube's fault. |

This.
If you're trying to see what we can get out of him, you're basically hoping against hope that this surgery he's having revitalizes him in some way. |

I don't think anyone is gonna risk being the bad guy here, including Berube. I think they're all gonna say "The Right Things" and go home. |

I think the sign is kind of cheesy, and of course like most things here on hockeybuzz, is being completely overblown. However, the biggest issue is it's really not true. Players on a pro sports team are not equal, and are not treated equally, nor should they be. |

I don't think it has anything to do with producing. I think it has to do with off ice stuff more than anything. At least that is always the impression I got. |

So I should just assume everyone lies?
I look at quotes and make my opinion from there. There are ways to be nice and get your message across you don't like someone. His quotes seem to be pretty straight forward. If he had a problem he could find a way to make it known.

Yes you can in my opinion. A player wouldn't make those statements, if it wasn't the case. He would just dance around it with some typical interview cliches.

It involves Berube, so how could it be true. Mason and Berube having a good relationship doesn't fit the narrative that Berube is an incompetent coach, who is to blame for pretty much everything. |

Maybe. Now keep in mind that I'm aware the the GM and Coach are no longer players but Holmgren once calmed that he wouldn't trade Carter and Umberger and had every intention of re-signing the two young players but ended up trading Umberger. Earlier this season Berube claimed that he had no issue with Scott Hartnell and that they were still friends, which also turned out to not be the case less then 24 hours later. |

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Mason and Berube having a bad relationship doesn't fit the narrative for Berube apologists and martyrs like yourself.
We can go both ways here. Just give it a rest. Every (frank)ing day with you. It's endless and tiresome. Even ignoring 95% of your posts is tiresome.
Let's talk about something different like Amac's draft stock. Thoughts? |

Even then it still instills the same principle. If it's more regarding off the ice, then I think they've done a good job at conveying that message, cuz you look at the roster (yeah, it's a poopty one), there's really no one who is over the top arrogant let alone anyone that is truly arrogant, thinks they're better than anyone else, "head to big for his shoulders" kinda thing. You get the point. lol |

(frank) that stupid sign. The sentiment is obviously a good one, but that ought to be a tacit thing. If you're not getting it, the captain can have some words with you. The wording is juvenile, and overly hostile. I find it embarrassing that the team I love has put up such a stupid sign. |
