He couldn't be further wrong. I think both teams and fan bases respect each other. Neither team was significant for the last two years.

I know if Flames win , I will follow them and wish them the best

I moved to Vancouver and never had the hate. Iginla was always a good player to covet on their team. Like a few of their players today. Would love to see Van win in 4, but if they lose in 7, I'll root for the Flames the rest of the way.

With the firing of Chirelli there was talk on the radio today about would Benning be interested in LUcic and his 6 mil contract? I know most on here don't like him, but Benning does. I would definitely be for trading for him.

The 6mil thing is an issue.

Exactly, I'm always perplexed when he writes this stuff that makes no sense.

The day I really gained a lot of respect for Calgary, is when Iginla got the players back out on the ice after the game to shake Linden's hand after his final NHL game. Classy.

We need a second liner , and that will cost about 5 . What can I say I think he makes the team instantly better

Both teams have gained a mutual respect over the years. On ice rivalry off ice respect.

Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Day: The Playoff Journey Begins, Defending Flames D
The Stanley Cup journey begins as the Vancouver Canucks face off against the Calgary Flames tonight at Rogers Arena.

Everyone seems to be saying this will be a long series. Canucks are so much better than the Flames, it shouldn't be close at all. Wouldn't be surprised if the Canucks sweep the Flames, but I'll say Vancouver in 5.

i love the sedins, lack is a great personality, tanev is a great story and a very solid dman, willie seems like a reserved but hockey loving coach, and it's impossible to dislike trevor linden. the days i "hated" the canucks, i was much younger, and guys like cooke and ruutu were still around. i have a ton of respect for the organization, especially the sedins and the work they've done.

but i still can't freakin stand burrows.

Go up 2-0 even ....that's when we are at our best
- Redmile247

Funny, were usually at our best when down 2-0 as well

i'll definitely note this one. thanks. not saying the flames couldn't get swept, but if you think one of these teams are so much better than the other, you haven't been paying attention.

I watch all the games. Calgary is a nice story but they are lucky to be here. Canucks have way more experience and are much deeper. Shouldn't be a close series.

Forget it. Lucic is so overrated. Plus he said he is going to stop defending his home town. (frank) him.

He only has 1 year left until ufa... Do you wait and sign as a ufa or give up assets in a trade?

Not a big fan of his personality, but his on ice play can be very effective- bull in a china shop. Maybe if we sign him, he can room with Miller?
