I think that we both watched the same game. I'm confident that the Canucks will bring it next game but nervous that they were actually pretty good tonight and still lost.

Yea I'm worried that the Flames might get surprised by the Canuck's pushback in game 2
as long as we can settle it down and keep it close for the first period I think we have a good shot at winning
If we get caught with our pants down and the Canucks pot in 3-4 goals which is what I see might happen then we may just split the first 2 games

If we do pull out the win....I think the pressure builds for the Sedins and possibly Lack and that's when the Canucks fold and get swept
*Here's to hoping!!!* We are the kind of team that when we start believing, the kind of heart and hard work team we are, we could possibly go further into these playoffs like our 03-04 team

I agree. I don't see what's wrong with admitting that you are playing a good team and all of their fans might not all be D bag A Holes. It's not as if I would want to have a drink with all of our fans.

Honestly the Canucks don't need much pushback, this was a damn close game. They weren't out played, they just lost. I would be amazed if this series goes less than 6.

if they figure out how to get a second shot on a rebound, they'll rack em up.

i don't think monahan was 100% tonight. those top 2 lines cancelled each other out.

To be honest. bouma and/or kassian are the player on either teams that will change things.

I'm happy kass is out. his big body and attitude is not something cgy has a player to deal with at the moment.

Hiller looked awake tonight. I hate to say it, but he's going to be the big factor that will win or lose this series

TSN stirring the pot regarding the first goal by Jones saying it shouldn't have counted.

I think horvat was holding an illegal stick when he tied his skate before the game. that goal should be reviewed too.

Man was tonight that boring that they had to dig for that incident?

was a pretty good game. refs called some loose calls, but all were to keep things in order so that they keep the control in a 7 game series.

MTL-OTT is already a stop opera

I wouldn't have minded that kind of game, and we might have one or two coming our way.

As much as I respect the Flames and enjoy actually talking hockey with their fans, I have absolutely no problem with the teams fcking hating each other.

I agree. You can hate a team even though you still might respect them, which is precisely the same sort of dynamic as in all other aspects of life (yes, thank YOU Zoggoson, now snatch the pebble away from my cockle region )

Oh Zogger, you always manage to produce the most colourful soliloquy

I know what you mean though; I hate both the Sens and the Habs... I respect the Habbies however.

Lacks fault? yeah that guy didnt get a shutout so we could win the game, throw miller in
Kenins was pretty invisible on the puck, yeah he threw a few big hits but when compared to ferlands hitting kenins is not noticable (aside from his one big hit) id be all for calling up sven, the speed is needed.

Benett looked really good tonight, 18 year old kid driving the net like he did.
Lack wasn't the problem either.
Good game though by both and will be a battle!

Recall Baertchi.

Higgins looked shakey and mishandled the puck a lot . I would bring him up.

I am so embarrassed for Canucks fans who think so simple. We are supposed to be a knowledgeable fan base folks.

When you need a win you go to your NO.1 goalie do you not?

How's that for knowledge?

What about all the 'knowledgeable' fans on here that predicted the Nucks in 4?

Champions win ,plain and simple. We can make excuses , but we need to score hit and find a way to win.

Game one not going to panic , hopefully this pisses off the team and they bounce back.

I know Sbisa and Bieksa are going to get most of the crap on the GWG because of the double screen...

But Kenins and Hansen were Richarding around with the puck right at their own blue line and ended up coughing it up. Instead of getting Sbieksa off the ice, they get pinned in their own zone. That puck has to get out in that situation.

Ya it's a bit baffling why Baertchi was sent down when you had to know he would be jacked to play the Flames in RD 1. We need that energy badly.

True however that was a during-game decision.

We have time between games to think about who will start GM 2 and it will be interesting to see where WD goes with it.

Did you see Miller play Saturday? That's who you want to trust? He was no where near game ready.

It was a team loss last night. Plain and simple they didn't finish.

Top 2 lines 0 points . PP 0 PTs . That's why we lost

Agree Sedins were invisible. And yes the team has to find a way to come thru for sure. The missed high stick on the Calgary tying goal was big but as mentioned before that's how the series may go...a missed call here and there or a broken play(s).

As much as it may have been a team loss it was the Hiller/Lack matchup that was huge. Hiller made the massive saves when needed Lack did not. Eddie can't be deep in the net on a 40 ft wrist shot on the tying goal and cheating to the right side on the winner. It boils down to mental prep as well and this is where I think Miller's mental stability may help. You are right Miller may not be 100% ready right now but are we 100% sure to come back with Lack?

It's going to be a curious call by the coaching staff.

Just one playoff win since game 5 in the finals. Simply not good enough.
