EKLUND "both just out-right hate each other" on VAN/CAL - VanHockeyGuy
Eklund is delusional. As I've said, there is no rivalry today. Fans don't hate each other. Teams don't hate each other. |

I'd say there is one with Toronto. I can't stand that organization and their fans. |

Should be interesting.

The day I really gained a lot of respect for Calgary, is when Iginla got the players back out on the ice after the game to shake Linden's hand after his final NHL game. Classy.

Im confident in this series, no gio, and the one of few guys with playoff experience on calgary is benched for bennett (raymond) plus lack tends to do good against calgary. |

I was referring to Vancouver Calgary. I despise Toronto, it's fans, the referee on hockey buzz who banned me, and anyone else connected to that team. |

The thing I'm most looking forward to watching in the 1st round is the matchup between the best goalie in the world and Carey Price...
What can you say... He's a character. |

Aren't Raymond and Hudler the only guys with post season experience? - thundachunk
I think there's a few other guys with some games up front, some decent experience on the back end too.
But nobody is seriously going to play someone strictly because they have a few games of playoff experience. I would hope all of those decisions would come down to many factors. |

Am I the only one who thinks this is an overrated topic every year? Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Hudler has won a Cup anyways and they have been playoff hockey for 3 weeks. The LA game was the closest to a playoff game in the regular season you will ever see. They will be fine learning on the fly. My bigger concern is how the smaller Flames forwards will withstand the punishment, and if their bodies hold up. If there is an injury on the top line this series is done. |

I still think there is absolutely a rivalry. Difference being is that the younger fans dont know what it was like when there truly was one. Neither team has been a significant nemesis to each other for many years. So I think now everyone is more excited to watch the 2 play in a Canadian match up. Besides this is the first series it is not like they are playing for the Western finals, which would have a different feeling altogether.
We really havent had playoffs like this for some time. If this was the norm the hate would flow over. But this year there is more excitement to actually re-kindle a rivalry based on a good series.

I was a fan back during the Iginla/Naslund days where the teams played each other a bunch of times in the playoffs. Much as I hated them then I admire their team now and though I'm sure my blood will be hot by series' end I think I will still be a closet Flames supporter |

There is a big time rivalry. There is also respect. Combined make great hockey. |

I have been listening to pretty much every analysis by as many different personalities about the Van vs Cal series. Almost all of them have Vancouver as the loser. Some say we are going to be dominated. |
