Anyone notice that Stamkos is a year away from being a UFA? I'd say he's likely to resign but five years ago a lot was made of him going to Toronto at the first opportunity when Stamkos didn't extend his deal right away. - SuperSchennBros
There is no way in hell he comes to Toronto. He has it all in Tampa. No media microscope, a good team, nice weather, and he will get the money

I wouldn't say no way. Some players want that. Some players thrive on that. A lot of players in the league grew up a Toronto fan and want to be that guy who helps them turn things around. Right now Toronto might have the best chance at winning Babcock over if he's really up for the challenge. Rumour has it Babcock might be offered both the Coaching Job and the GM spot. |

He said he wants to stay in Tampa when I saw him interviewed. I am from his home town of Markham and there is a very definitive word out that he would not be coming to play for the Leafs

Ohhhhhh....Your from his home town and watched an interview, last word.
Sidney Crosby grew up a Montreal fan but remained a Penguin. I have no doubt it's a close to the same situation but not because the reasons you mentioned. |

the entire pens defensive unit are actually all rangers fans. thats why theyre being so inept and allowing them to have every loose puck and 6 feet of open space at any given time. |

Your right - 3flyerkids
I think there are certain pressures and expectations when your a Sidney Crosby or a Steven Stamkos. Like everyone else, I don't agree with the contract Ottawa threw at Bobby Ryan but that organization has lost so much over the years. I also don't believe Bobby Ryan wanted to stay because he didn't sign for along time when they clearly wanted to keep him. This is where pressure, expectations and influences come in. I'm sure the little kid in Crosby would love to play for Montreal just as much as the little kid in Stamkos would love to play for the Leafs. |

Downie>>>Rinaldo - Landsbergfan
downie is 1000 times better as an actual player.
but as far as being a reckless idiot thats bad for the game, yeah. downie probably outweighs rinaldo. |

He may have wanted to play here as a little kid but as a grown man, I am willing to bet he stays in Tampa

I had it on mute.
5 penalties to 1 and I still feel like the Pens are getting away with poop. It's incredible how undisciplined they are even in a playoff game. |

i just dont like that play at the end.
you have a guy laying prone on the ice. you cant lean on the back of his neck with your stick.
yeah, that stuff goes without being called every game. and yeah, downie being downie will make it a call every time. but whatever. taking off my frustrating pens glasses, that stuff just should be called every time until people dont do it. |
