The tough thing is that we're four years past the Richards and Carter deals -- and both of those players have yet to become the answers the Flyers need them to be - AllInForFlyers
And they're still 22 and 23 years old. Which means they have time. |

(frank) her.
i dont care what anyone says, she is only where she is because of what she looks like. thats it. i dont care about whatever credentials she feels she can trot out. as such, its just extremely awful of her to be such a goddamn brat to someone over such things just for doing their job.
i understand everyone gets frustrated, but i can only imagine how id feel if that woman was my mother and i saw her all (frank)ed up about it when she came home from work. granted, those people that do those jobs probably develop tough skins, but still. |

They do -- but it's not infinite, you know?
I say it a lot, but it's true: None of this stuff happens in a vacuum. Other teams are going to get better, too

True, but expecting a finished product at age 22 is why Montreal traded John LeClair before he became a 50 goal scorer. |

yeah. but in all honestly they are still fairly young, so its not totally certain yet.
schenn is obviously the most worrisome one.
even if coots doesnt progress much more past what he is, i still dont see it as a catastrophe. he can be a 18 goal, 35 point shutdown center. set it and forget it on the third line. and with the offense being limited, hell never become egregiously pricey. that is a player that you can win with.
hell, the pens need it big time right now. jordan staal back would cure A LOT of ills. |

But you know that stuff goes both ways -- Tampa moved Brett Connolly along, and he was drafted one year after Schenn (though one year before Couts)
I understand he's not finished, but you have to admit, it's disappointing to see the droughts and inconsistency

Let's look at it from Stoll's vantage point.
I've got two rings
I've got Erin Andrews
Is there anything to really gain by living out a normal sober life? It's debatable.
I can take this drug. Which will allow me have sex with Erin Andrews for 2+ hours and might take me to a different universe. I don't know...I can't blame the guy whats left to do in the real world? |

It is, but it's not enough to call either a waste. Schenn's put up a 20 goal season, and has managed 40+ points each of the last two years. Couturier is a top shut down center, coming off career offensive highs in a year where he had one of the most difficult roles in the NHL, in terms of defensive usage.
Both need to be more consistent, but both have been contributors and solid NHLers. A guy like Connolly's career totals haven't even met Schenn's seasonal totals in each of the last two seasons |

She showed up at LOI signing day at Penn State wearing red. Looked like a scene from Sixth Sense. She's obviously above everyone else. |

It really is tough -- we've made advances, as a country, in how we approach it, but sometimes it's hard
My wife tells a funny story about one of her college friends who was really hot. She said she and her other friends always wondered why that girl studied so hard, when everyone knew she was gonna marry the hottest guy with the most money and make cute babies -- which is exactly what she did
My point being: Women do it, too -- they know who's hot, on their end |

i dont think coots will ever be the player some expect, but that doesnt necessarily mean he is a bad player. just a different player. he can be a guy that exerts his influence on every single game without ever breaking 50 points. |

Now, I didn't call either of them a waste, but I did say the Flyers need more from them. They really do -- Schenn's season featured some of the emptiest points I've seen in a long time
It's unfortunate if we're going to latch onto his point totals as a sign to keep him and not be honest about when and how he collected them
