No - the league can't do enough to help Edmonton out of the basement. Probably the most underwhelming option in the entire lottery.

I feel bad for you guys. Not trolling or anything, I just got home from work and found out the (frank)ing oilers won the damn lottery. 4 times in 6 years picking 1st overall is a joke. Your situation would've been ideal for a talent like mcdavid. Adding him and you guys would be a year or 2 from being a playoff team. Got some solid young talent and the acquisition of evander kane with mcdavid being drafted would've been something to see. Eickel is gonna be great, but the oilers don't deserve mcdavid. They've had plenty of chances since 2010 to get it right and they still suck.

3-Edmonton wins, I did not want McDavid in the East (especially Toronto) and I did not want him rotting in a desert.

Sabres then hold 1 and 2. Then trade 2 to Arizona for OEL and 3rd overall. Arizona gets Eichel as a franchise center the Sabres then draft Strome and Toronto gets Hannifn.

You don't need a team with McDavid stopping you from being the best team in your conference every year.

We just went from having the chance to make the playoffs in the next year or definitely 2nd year to being lucky if we make it in 2 or 3. Eichel is great but I cant see him turning a franchise around..
