When the Pens won they had a lot of good players and some that played above their normal level and then they had Crosby/Malkin as well.

I am not disappointed in getting Eichel, seen some of his games and his highlight videos he looks fantastic to me McDavid has a bit more of the X-Factor about him that is all.

I am certainly disappointed with the NHL and the whole draft/lottery process. Love Travis Yost idea and quite a few other people out there. Get rid of it and basically the prospects become UFA but you still have the hard cap. Be interesting to see teams forking out $100 million dollar contracts for rookies over 10 years and then working them into their existing team structure.

I like the no draft process as well. A teams GM and upper management would really become the highest paid people in the organization.

They're not at all. What they are, however, is an example of what a generational player can do. They make mediocre talents great long enough to sometimes win cups.

If that is the case then I fear for the Sabres, it is all about getting Eichel to be a Sabre now, concentrate going forward on that, McDavid is gone he is in Edmonton they are not going to trade.

Next major step now is to see if we are able to move up the draft any further in the 1st round with another move or we trade that for an existing RFA/UFA.

I do, but at the same time, the teams that are more successful tend to lean more toward the Canadian side.

Not sure what you mean by that, Buffalo has a fit ? My feeling was kind of that who we drafted would start to define what the Sabres are from this draft. I think with Eichel as well now this makes us a tough team to play against.
