the Oilers are just going to say (frank) off then I don't think he gives a poop about the draft in Buffalo if he gets. Connor McDavid - gerbe75pts
If McDavid pulls a Lindros, it just might happen. |

Yeah....I suppose there is still a sliver of hope for the other teams. But the price will be very, very, high to the point that most teams would be gutted, and taking back Nikitin and Ferrence. |

Mike Modano
Went to 3 cup finals
Won 1 cup.
If Eichel does that......
Well.....
I'll hang up and listen.
p.s. Brett Hull. I'll take it if Eichel does what he did too. - dadeadhead
It's a good debate. Lemieux and Hull both have two cups. Getzlaf and Crosby have a cup each. /shrug
Who knows what'll happen. At least TM makes things interesting. |

We could have the face of USA hockey for the next 15 years but I don't think Tim Murray wants that is too much in love with Connor McDavid it looks like |

Everything Murray said was taken WAY out of context. Media's been in his face ever since he let go Nolan. It's their job to stir the pot and make drama out of nothing. |

Murray wouldn't trade our 2016 pick either. We host that draft year. The most he trades to move up from #2 to #1 is the #2 pick and 2 roster players. - awildmudkip
After seeing him do the Kane trade, the knowledge of other deals that have involved the moving up for the 1st pick, and the common sense of you in no way trade that pick(meaning McDavid)......EVER!

That said not only do I feel the Oilers say yeah no thanks but I do not feel it is worth it. You can play Eichel at wing. I'm sorry but a Kane/Reinhart/Eichel line followed by a Moulson/Girgensons/Ennis line is still a solid and fun to watch top 6. At that point the bottom 6 is still at a level that can and most times is the difference of winning a cup
At the end of the day we all knew what the end result of finishing 30th was 80% Eichel and 20% McDavid. Nothing more needs to be said. |

I was working and other than watching the lotto didn't hear or see much.
McDavid in the little I saw did not look all that thrilled.
Although hockey players in general seem awkward in interviews in general. |

his body language and subtle head shakes tell me he's not at all comfortable going west. that and him nodding at "anything can happen" with in regards to draft day, well he's right on that. |

Again from the little I saw I would agree.
If I'm Edmonton (unless the value coming back is out of this world) you do not trade the pick.
That said it would not surprise me to see them trade it. They've made all the wrong moves since offer sheeting Vanek. Yeah it was matched but then they offer sheeted Penner. Take the winger when you need a center. Take the winger when you need a defensemen. Trade the goalie in Duby when the issue was never him but the 6 inept defensemen in front of him along with inept forward play. Honestly the list goes on and on(and I was a huge Oiler fan growing up in the 80's so I'm not bashing).
I get it being from Buffalo and a place where maybe just maybe past history from former management makes guys not want to be here. Edmonton with all of it's rich history of former glory isn't the greatest place to play for guys. The travel I'm sure sucks and is a reason they have to way overpay for guys. And again Buffalo has done it too. There is no glass house thing going on here(so when you Oiler fans come in here bashing this post, remember to read more and post less).
But winning the lotto 4 times in 6 years is a travesty and a joke. 7 and I repeat 7!!!!!! Top 10 picks since 2007 and they still look like monkeys trying to fvck footballs out there.
Please do the right thing Edmonton. Draft McDavid like you should and move one of Hall, Ebs, RNH(he's the last of them I'd move), or Draisaitl to fix the back end. |

About to cry? Not sure that's it. He's was as nervous as anyone, not knowing where he was going.
EDmonton is a tough place to play, but he has a lot of talent in that supporting cast ( kinda wierd calling our core a supporting cast, but as of today Thats what they are), and although he will be the Cities biggest celebrity and have no privacy, he will be absolutely swimming in poontang .
And anyone who knows anything about the Oilers knows this team is finally being run the right way, after the Lowe and Tambo eras. Our blogger is stupid. |

I don't know, I still say keep Girgensons on the 3rd line. Depending on who you're playing, that 3rd line could be your second line if the match ups are right. I think if you have solid centers, you keep them at center. Unless you're on the powerplay, then let the creativity go. |
