Talk is cheap.
If he wants to go back to school and do that fine go ahead.
It isn't the Schultz thing as he's at a age where if he wins a championship and doesn't want to sign he goes back into the draft. Unless I'm completely off my rocker which is entirely possible as it is 6am. There is an age limit and all the college guys that have pulled that were 21 and up. He'd be 20 and be eligible to be re-drafted like many Euro's. - dadeadhead
I can't remember the changes made in the CBA, but even so, the pick on Eichel would be wasted and the Sabres get nothing in return should Eichel not sign in Buffalo? |

the only time in my recent memory an American came even close to a scoring title was Pat Kane in the 1/2 season. Other than that, Canadians have dominated the top of the scoring sans Malkin's break-out 109 point season. - awildmudkip
5 (all in a row mind you)out of the last 10 years the scoring title was non Canadian.
OV
Malkin twice
Both Sedins.
11 of the last 20 years too.
Forsberg once and Jagr 5 times.
Kinda hard to win a scoring title with Gretzky and Mario in the league too.

Yes it would be wasted but I don't think it's an issue. |

Howdy folks...
We lose anyone to The Bridge?
I see Nolan was fired.
I think we all knew after that video the hockey gods were sending Eichel here. I can't wait. |

Pending Eichel would sign here. That whole "wanting to go back to BU for another year" freaks me out. |

Two of the 4 or 5 best to ever lace them up.
There has only been 28 Art Ross winners and the trophy has been around since the 47/48 season.
Hull, LaFontaine, and Kane are the only ones off the top of my head that came close. |

And when is the last time an American as good as Eichel was in the league? |

I don't know, people are comparing him to Getzlaf. Which don't get me wrong, that's awesome. But that's not McDavid or Crosby kind of awesome. |

He is probs compared to Getzlaf in style, not talent. |

Crosby and Getzlaf have the same amount of Stanley cups.
Winning one is all that matters.
If Eichel in Buffalo wins one and McDavid in Edmonton wins none, does it really matter?

Try and get Duby to come back. Always had the talent just never had the competent play in front of him.
Can't tell me it's Minny's style of play either as he blew Smith's play out of the water in Arizona this year and they sucked. - dadeadhead
Sean Burke was a huge influence.....no more " 1 softie per game" anymore. Not sure why he was bad for doing that, Defense had (frank) all to do with it. |

Getzlaf isn't talented? Would you rather compare Eichel's "talent" level with Paul Kariya? Since last freshman to win Hobey Baker and yada yada. |

It wouldn't matter even if McDavid wins one. I'm sure most fans wouldn't care if McDavid won multiple cups as long as Buffalo gets at least one. I personally feel that McDavid gives Buffalo a better shot at a cup. |

You're right 30+ shots a game had zero to do with it.
Inept center play along with defensmen that couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag had way more to do with it then you want to admit.
Remember I'm a Buffalo fan and know these things as I've watched it here myself. When the team you root for has zero possession skills, your goalie is more apt to let in the untimely goal. It is the way it works.
I read countless times of the Edmonton fan base running him out of town. It is and has been a huge error in managements part. |

Neither has Stamkos, Weber, Subban, or Tavares and yet you put them in there.

Pay attention skippy. Oiler fans had no problemsm with 3 of the 4 goals he let in on a nightly basis behind Schultz and Ferrence....it was the one beachball, every, single, game.

You lose any and all arguments or conversations when the first words out in response are name calling.
You are better than that.
The play in front of him was awful plain and simple. If it were better that one beachball goal wouldn't matter as they would still win more than they lost. Remember I had Ryan Miller to watch back there. Guy lost more shutouts in the final 2 mins because of a beachball goal than any goalie I have ever seen. End result was they still won the game. |
