Their will be a nice window. But either they turn out to be superstars and command 8-10 mil, in which you can keep say Hall/Nuge/McDavid, and eventually have to move Yak or Draisaitl, or you won't have depth to win.

We all know the dynasty days are long over......someone better be making long term cap plans now.
On the bright side, the Oilers finally have depth on the farm, so hopefully a million dollar Yakimov can replace a 3 million dollar Gordon, ect.

I've heard good things about Matthews, but not anywhere near the same amount of hype as Eichel.

This embarrassment from last night could have been avoided had the league made a rule after Edm won the lottery 3 years in a row. People had issues with it then and now they strike when it's a player that people have had on their radars for years. The league should put in a rule that a team can only win the lottery 2 times in a 10 year span. If they miss the playoffs in that 10 years then they would not have any lottery balls.

He has already shown a propensity of making bad decisions to get what he wants.
I liken it to the behavior of a spoiled child.
Give him a few years and he will cripple this franchise worse than it already is.
He has a ton of money to spend, let's see how he spends it this off season.

Talked to a real cool hockey guy while I was on vacation. Has done scouting for Windsor and Brampton in the past. Currently coaches Midget AAA up in Canada. He really likes Bogosian. His son played with him in the past. He thought that trade was good for both sides.

Darcy just fell in love with his players hence why we are rebuilding right now (something Darcy started) because he screwed up royally.

Did Murray overpay? On paper yes. However we all knew Myers would perform better on a better team (you argued yourself that good players make others better and argued Myers did not make anyone better) so which is it? Make up your mind. We all know you don't like Murray but showing praise to Darcy for not overpaying for players yet he signed Leino, Ehrhoff, and Hodgson to those insane contracts I'll just say you're wrong.

Either way, getting the 2nd best player in this draft will be great either way

I think he just likes the style game Eichel plays better. McDavid might be the better point getter, but Eichel does have a bit more of a physical presence than McDavid. McDavid is a bit quicker, but Eichel is the more powerful skater.

I also think that because of the way Eichel has always been said to be just that little bit less talented, he's going to play with a chip on his shoulder trying to prove everyone wrong. Sometimes you can't underestimate that.

Again from the little I saw I would agree.

If I'm Edmonton (unless the value coming back is out of this world) you do not trade the pick.

That said it would not surprise me to see them trade it. They've made all the wrong moves since offer sheeting Vanek. Yeah it was matched but then they offer sheeted Penner how was this a bad move? we needed size and he actually scored 30 and near 30 on 2 occasions.. Take the winger when you need a center we needed both. Take the winger when you need a defensemen we already had klefbom. and what would murray have done for us at this point? hes hardly even played. people can say what they want about yaks, but murray has unequivocally proven nothing that he would've made one iota of difference thus far. silly statement.. Trade the goalie in Duby he was playing pretty brutal. and played poorly on two ther teams before this year. but yeah, it was amiss i suppose. when the issue was never him but the 6 inept defensemen in front of him along with inept forward play. Honestly the list goes on and on(and I was a huge Oiler fan growing up in the 80's so I'm not bashing).

I get it being from Buffalo and a place where maybe just maybe past history from former management makes guys not want to be here. Edmonton with all of it's rich history of former glory isn't the greatest place to play for guys. The travel I'm sure sucks and is a reason they have to way overpay for guys. And again Buffalo has done it too. There is no glass house thing going on here(so when you Oiler fans come in here bashing this post, remember to read more and post less).

But winning the lotto 4 times in 6 years is a travesty and a joke. 7 and I repeat 7!!!!!! Top 10 picks since 2007 and they still look like monkeys trying to fvck footballs out there.

Please do the right thing Edmonton. Draft McDavid like you should and move one of Hall, Ebs, RNH(he's the last of them I'd move), or Draisaitl to fix the back end.
