No trolls during or after this game as of yet--amazing.
I got banned for a few hours last night posting on the Hawks thread:
One of your guys came and trolled on our thread last night. Just wondering if he enjoyed the game. Got me a two hour ban for that.
Just wanted to point something out without completely going down to those clowns' level. Really hate it when internet tough guys like to kick guys when they are down.

Gunnar looks to be afraid of getting hit and Jackman looks incapable of dealing with fast players
Saw a terrible penalty called on the Wild. Parise could have been called for goaltender interference a few times in the first game but that one in game two was not not interference at all. He got pushed into
I love Nino and still cannot believe he was had for so little. He is the kind of player you want in the play offs. I did not like his cross check on Backes near the net in the third.

Was that the cross check in the back? I scared my neighbors yelling at the TV on that one... |

These teams seem to be playing tight though it may just be the tight system/tight checking they both play.
DD was terrible on the second goal, Allen didn't react/read the goal against well but otherwise both goalies played very well.
The boards at the Scottrade were terrible again tonight with crazy bounces.
Michalek, Jackman and Jaybo all struggled more than just a bit in this game. Gunnarson too. I hope Jaybo gets his game together but I am losing confidence that he will. His passing reminds me of Cole and he has a lot of big contract left.
Officiating was reasonably consistent again and again not the difference maker.
Ott stepped his game up. Schwartz, Berglund, Tank, Lehtera, Steen and Stastny all had decent games again.
I'd be ok with seeing if Jokinen could bring more than Goc if hitch is going to make a forward change.
Backes made a great play saving a goal.

I haven't been too impressed with Michalek so far in the playoffs. I doubt we'll see any changes on D for game 3 but I kind of wish that Hitch would go back to J bo Petro and Gunnarson Shatty.
It does kind of seem like Shatty is still not quite back to 100% though.

agreed but Shatty played better tonight than the end of the regular season. Maybe he is getting there? |

He's probably not going to be 100% until next season.
Guru mentioned Ott and I had to chuckle. I don't have much use for the guy during the regular season but I love watching his antics in the playoffs. What a turd..... |

Ducks up two games to none. I saw the third and there were three big time obvious no calls and two of them led to duck's goals. Kind of like the kane goal against the preds the other night.
Stljam officiating has no influence on the game meh. The other night they call multiple calls in the second one way but not both, and that has a double whammy effect. the officials in hockey are like obstacles in the game, instead of arbiters of fairness. either call everything and let the olayers adapt or just do not call anything.
the interference call on Parise was bull pup. you need to mount a come back instead you end up wasting energy killing penalties. one could argue well that is made up for non calls nut i don't buy it.
as for the second goal, that was not a twrrible goal to give up. honestly that is a pure skill goal that most players to include tarasenko himself will not score, the bounce will not be favorable and most will plain miss. Dub was looking how our netminders sometimes look when they do not take care of the shot and positioning in front of them and instead worry about the back door.

That was an awesome game. There were some crazy bounces. The Minny goal skipped off the ice by itself. I don't know what Allen really could have done to stop it. Allen made some good on the line saves to keep us in it. The kid is on fire. Tarasenko is truely an amazing sniper. He really made Dubnyk pay for not hugging that bar. I got a Backes and Oshie towel. I wonder who is next? LGB! |

From an outside perspective, I think this series will be a good one but ultimately tough for the Wild. The Wild have to play their best game to beat the Blues whereas the Blues can still win without playing their best (like yesterday). |

I disagree. Obviously it helps the Wild to bring their A game, but puck luck is alive and well in the playoffs and just 1 or 2 of those go in favor of the Wild instead of St. Louis yesterday and we may have seen a completely different outcome or at least a game score that was more representative to how close the game actually was.
After watching these first 2 games, I think the Wild match up with St. Louis a lot better than many people thought coming into the series, including myself. Things always look different on paper.
And if certain Blues fans want to continue to whine about calls not going their way... The fact that Ott wasn't penalized even once yesterday for any number of slashes, crosschecks et al, was absolutely dumfounding.
That being said, I don't lament losses by complaining about officiating because bad and non-calls are a part of every game and both teams suffer and benefit from them.
Series tied 1 - 1. We'll see if the Wild can take back momentum at the X. |

Do you mean when I was critical of the call made against Parise saying it was not a penalty? Are you so biased in your perception you are incapable of seeing that I am not a homer like you?
You changed your tune quick after a Wild loss. Now go away. Your mom is calling you, time to get out of the basement.
If HB did not remove all the blogs from the beginning of the season I can quote you are your cmplaints and show how you behaved at the beginning of the season, which was incredulous at best. You fool thers with your nice guy act, but I know exactly what you are doing. You would continue and if the Wild wn the series you would try to rub our faces in it as if we somehow had influence over the actions on the ice. |

Question to you Blues fans: Do you feel like your team is taking exceptions at the Wild players? Because here in MN, that's all they like to talk about. How Ott is doing this and that and the Blues go after this player blah blah. In my eyes I see nothing bad at all. Both teams are playing playoff hockey and doing the same thing, its just that the Blues hit more. I can recall countless times were a Wild player crosschecked a Blues player.

As a goalie myself, every time I give up a goal like that it's terrible. It happens only because I got caught cheating to the pass and not playing the play true.
As for the officiating, relative to the other series, ours has been more consistent and not as bad. Think Keith hug down in game on in Nashville as just one example. They aren't going to be perfect or perfectly consistent but they have been more consistent than many regular season games. Just my worthless opinion of course.

Mkay, I'll indulge your attempt to bait me Mr. Adhomin. You and your buddy Antilles are the only jack asses in the Blues blog. I find the rest of the regulars to be more than mature with the ability to actually discuss the facts and share their opinions and whether they agree or not listen to mine without curling up in the fetal position and openly weeping like butt hurt 4th graders.
Antilles is clearly intelligent, that much is obvious. Unfortunately he is handicapped by a severe immaturity that allows him to become irrational and causes him to deflect because he simply cannot listen to reason. But you sir are just a hypocritical dope of epic proportions. It's clear you're not very bright, especially in your attempts to sound like an intellectual when you construct your paragraph long rants laced with freshly pecked words straight from your thesaurus.
Trust me when I tell you I couldn't care less what you think of me because you don't matter enough to me to warrant consideration. Your self righteous hypocritical behavior is beyond ridiculous.
You claim you hate trolls and whine about Chicago fans kicking people when their down, and then show up in their thread to do what?! TROLL! and kick Chicago fans when they're down. Weird how you hate guys that do that, but it's okay for you to do...
People like you have the mentality that condemns others for certain actions yet justify similar retaliatory actions for yourself.
From here on out please feel free to ignore and/or be non-responsive to any of my posts either in the Blues blog or elsewhere in HB. You don't like what I have to say fine, then don't waste your energy responding.
And just a little FYI for ya, all the team blogs are archived going back several years. Surprised someone as smart as you didn't know that.
Enjoy the rest of the series.

I don't think so; the Blues actually seem to be playing tamer than I expected and I think its a good thing. It's clear that this series is very closely matched and the Blues don't need to get into penalty trouble. |

I told my wife between the 2nd and 3rd period that the Islanders were in trouble. Completely dominating through two periods but only up 1-0 with a guy like Ovechkin on the other side generally causes problems and often ends in losses. See Blues vs Wild second to last regular season game as an example.

Might want to tell your buddy something similar. I had no issue on game night until Your buddy chimed in with hurt feelings in tow and without warrant told me to have some class and leave the thread. I had done nothing but try to discuss the game up until that point.
I will admit that I can over react at times, but I also have the ability to listen to reason and admit when I'm wrong.
Whatever, like I said before, you don't like what I have to say, you're free to ignore me.

It's playoff hockey as well as an important part of the Blues game. A physical pounding and extra carricular agitation can wear a team down and lead to a critical hesitation or turnover come game six or seven.
It's tame compared to other series. |
