The later 1st and the next 4 1sts. Figure get it out of the way now since they'll offer sheet him in 3 yrs anyways..........
All joking aside I'm a firm believer in that any and all offers to improve your team should be listened to. That said the last player of his ability that was moved was Lindros. It was quite a haul and you can't send money in deals like what was done in the old days. So the haul for McDavid would be greater by a ton IMO. - dadeadhead
agreed.
fixing a few of our deficiencies in o go, should at the very lest be explored.
I think there a few teams out there that might be willing to pay dearly.
Arizona for one.
and even buffalo, being able to offer eichel as part of a package is very enticing.
not really interested in picks as value, but something to the effect of risto, foligno and eichel would be interesting.
or oel, Samuelsson and the 3rd from Arizona
worst case we can still deal draisaitl for a solid return |

WHen the trade Happened BHH had this quote:
To all of you Myers supporters I do want to say that I earnestly feel sorry for you.
I just wanted to say that.
Now all of the sudden he loves Myers.....
Strange - ImThatGuy
You can try to twist it any way you wish, it's fine with me really.
I did feel sorry for sbroads and people like him that enjoyed the player.
I was genuinely empathetic because I know how it feels to lose players you really enjoy watching.
The only thing I am stating now is that of the two, Myers and Bogosian, neither which are all stars mind you, I would much rather have Myers.
So I think that speaks volumes of what I think of Bogosian from what I have seen of him thus far. |

I know this much. The sabres will make every effort to get mcdavid. Could you trade reinhart, ristolainen, zadorov,Ennis and our second first for mcdavid..is there an at to get mcdavid without trading Eichel? The problem is,how much better will mcdavid be then eichel? - Buffalo39
So you're saying the Sabres draft McDavid and Eichel and lose Risto Zadorov Ennis and Reinhart plus that late 1st
Okay. Then trade Eichel and our 2nd to Arizona for OEL and their 3rd. Trade their 3rd for Kessel and Torontos 2nd rounder
Kane McDavid Kessel
Moulson Girgensons Larrson
Foligno Grigorenko Gionta
Deslauriers McCormick FA
OEL Bogosian
Pysyk Gorges
FA McCabe
Weber
That's armchair GM xbox trades
In all seriousness I don't think you can get McDavid without moving Eichel. It's too rich for my liking. |

It's arrogant to not like this trade?
See IMO, it's more arrogant when you read 95% of the posters and people on the radio or twitter laugh at this trade the night before when the rumor was posted, then do a complete 180 about 24 hours later.
I also think it's arrogant to give Murray props for getting us to 30th, but at the exact same time claim he tried his hardest to make us better and it's not his fault Hodgson sucks and whatever.
At least I have stuck with my opinion this entire time - sbroads24
I agree with you sb.

It's arrogance when you don't read my whole post and say things like I guaranteed Kane to be a 30 goal scorer which I clearly did not.
As I when the trade that came out the night before thought it was a huge overpayment. However I have this ability to take my emotions out of it broke the trade down. While it is a risky move it's a move that changed the franchise for the good or bad. I will wait to judge the trade when I see all of it's parts in play. But I know Myers is god and all. I too if you remember was a big Myers fan (I have his jersey) I know he is going to be a good player in the right situation it was just not here. |

Just like how Murray over paid for Kane, he will try to over pay for McDavid now.
He has already proven that once he locks onto a player or fantasizes about him whether right or wrong, he becomes stupidly and recklessly mesmerized. - BuffaloHardHat
And Nolan can't play nice with ANY GM he works for.
Guess both of them have a lot to learn.

First of all the Eichel I am coming for you biffalo. He has a part time girlfriend from Buffalo at BU.
Second of all, could mcdavid say he won't sign in Edmonton and force a trade. MCdavid wanted to play for buffalo or toronto. Could he force there hand? - Buffalo39

You're right I'm sorry.
Let me clarify. The attitude that we got a bonafide #1 LW, and solid defensemen for a Myers and a bunch of unknowns is what bothers me.
Myers scored a bunch of points one year
Kane scored 30 goals one year
Other than that, each player has had severe ups and downs. It should have been a swap.
If Chevy didn't want to do it, then so be it. But Murray was in love with Kane so he threw a lot more at him and got Bogo in the deal.
It potentially was a reckless deal IMO |

Keep the 3rd and draft Hanifin.
And I agree. Too rich and too much risk for my blood.

That leaves us with 2 major holes in the top 6 (I don't think Larsson is a top 6 guy).

Kane was also playing a 3rd line wingers role and doing it well I might add. Myers was even more inconsistent. There are plenty of positives and negatives about this trade. If in the end it evens out for both teams what does it matter? Bogo is a solid 2/3 not a good 2/3 like Myers so it's a downgrade there but add in Kane to the mix I still don't see where the "huge" overpayment is. Risky sure but overpayment no.

And if Kane doesn't score 30 goals next season for what was given up to get him, is it going to be considered an epic fail on Murray's end?
I am so stuck on that 1st rounder he gave up in that deal.

It's also a potential roster spot that we already don't have. By roster spot I mean players signed to pro contracts. Too many prospects and picks that we need to package anyway. Not something to get stuck on at all. |
