I had a better name, but some ref forced me to change it.
im talking hockey. period.
you can take however you want, but I have a feeling that if you had mcdavid in your pocket, there would be no touchiness involved in talking hockey.
you guys have torn the oilers apart FAR FAR FAR more than Ive said negative about the sabres. but either way, its fine. it doesn't bother me.
its just hockey bs. it shouldn't bother you so much - Ihateallofu
But I wouldn't be coming onto Edmonton's board and gloating about it and telling you how crap your team is.
If you come here to gloat about your crap, joke of a team of course we are going to tear them apart.
You sir are a grade A, troll.

lots of picks? yeah.
ability to sign free agents to help and insulate? no
ability to trade for big names with ntc's? no
pitts had 5 lotteries in a row.
as did Quebec
as did Ottawa I believe.
like those squads, we're actually just on our 5th top 5 if we're gonna get technical on the oilers struggles.
but point is, the sabres haven't done anything yet. and until they do, you don't really have a leg to stand on saying you've done more with less.
turn it around and we'll have that conversation.
im sure you have an idea when you think youll turn it around. much like oiler fans did.
but best laid plans dont always work out... - Ihateallofu
Are you trying to rewrite history? Lets get technical on the Oilers struggles? How about NINE years in the lottery. NINE straight years. With EIGHT of them being in the top 10. And 1 of them lost to offer sheeting Penner (lol).
I have no reason to believe Buffalo wont have this thing turned around in 2 years. Still an entire offseason to go before next season. Our GM has already made plenty of moves that the Oilers management never made. And I've already given my expectations for next year which is not the playoffs -- a bottom 10 team floating around .500 hockey. |

If nothing changes and Edm drafts number 1 (AGAIN!) by the time these kids are good (doesn't mean the team will be) they will have to move them for cap reasons. Then Edm will be right back to where they started. Let this dork come on here and pretend to celebrate . I honestly can't find one positive thing to say about that organization, you guys are so far down the rabbit hole, you need the Hubble to see the light at the end. |

Foligno-Larsson-Hodgson
Deslauriers-Schaller-?
Gorges-Bogosian
Zadorov-Pysyk
Weber-?
That's without us adding anyone in the off-season |

Signing whatever warm body isn't really addressing the issue. They needed D help when they drafted Yakupov, and IMO, should have taken Murray instead. I think they would be in a better place now. There's also plenty of guys that are under contract that they could have traded for that don't have NMC/NTC built into their contract. It's a matter of not wanting to give up anything to do so.
Just like so many other fan bases like to point out, you have to give to get, and the Oil just didn't seem interested in doing anything like that. - HonkFortheGoose
that's the point.
all they can do is sign warm bodies!! they cant sign anyone of consequence or trade for a star with an ntc. this is just it. nikitins and ferences are the only insulation we have to turn to, to build around our kids.
and the murray thing. maybe they shouldve drafted murray (side note--tambellini drafted him--NOT MACT) but I like this one cause murray would have changed NOTHING thus far.
yaks led the league in goals and points. murrau missed the wole season. we probably have worse season without yaks.
last year murray agains missed some time, but played well towards the end while yaks struggled...but in edm, hes thrown to the wolves, not sheltered behind wisniewski, tyutin, johnso. but either way, ill concede hedve helped abit.
this year? missed massive amounts of time again.
maybe down the road murray wouldbe been the right choice, but at this point, no difference. probably the opposite actually
and as far as trading, until I see some positive proof that mact turned down a quality offer, its just guesswork |

for the record I wanted McDavid but let's not forget, if McDavid wasn't in this draft we would be losing out on Eichel and drafting Strome. Strome isn't a bad player but is below Eichel IMO. We are still very lucky but McDavid was the prize that we missed out on. |

the lottery was technically the top 5 for all of the oilers pick.
there was no lottery for 1 outside pick 5
mact has made PLENTY of moves. his first of 2 years he was easily the most active gm in the game through trades and signing.
problem was, he inherited nothing and was only able to add secondary pieces.
so we wait.
but as of yesterday, I think he can deal from a position of strength
and as far as your expectations; theyre just that. they need to actually turn it around before we can talk of anything significant they've done |

so they'll basically be in the same position next season as management won't pull the trigger on a trade for quality defensive help...safe to assume that?

And Risto is a number 1 defender.
Screw that.

The Sabres have what it takes to get McDavid from the Oilers, I would bet anything Mac T doesn't move him but he would be foolish not to listen. |

You just blew up your whole "but we have done something to make out defense better!" argument. The fact you've only drafted 4 defensemen early in the past 5 years is NOT solving your problem. You just admitted to signing warm bodies is NOT solving your problem. And if you honestly believe Ference and Nikitin have real leadership qualities that should lead whatever young defensemen you think you have lying around, you're more delusional than 1/2 of the Leafs fan base. |

Even Oilers fans will admit that Buffalo has what it takes, but that doesn't mean much when technically it "could" take: Ristolainen, Reinhart, #2, other 1st, +
MacTavish will listen, I just hope Murray doesn't go that far. |

I don't disagree, just trying to see what it would look like without FA and trades. |
