I'd rather add someone who makes the team better now. We just suffered through the worst two seasons in Sabres history. I don't care about drafting any players who won't be in the NHL until 2018.

Add the other 1st this year not a 1st next year, plus a second this year as well plus what you mentioned.

I'm thinking they'd want next years 1st because they will gamble that it will be a lottery pick but you might be right they might want this year's other 1st. And I rethought it and added a 2nd, not a big deal since we have so many. I bet they ask for Ennis before Foligno and whether that would be a deal breaker.

Kessel wasn't always a lazy POS. I think a change of scenery does him good. A line of Kessel-Eichel-Kane seems like a beast 1st line.

What if they see it as near impossible to get a generational talent but much easier to replenish picks and prospects? If it takes Risto, which will hurt, talented two way defenseman can be had. It will take time to develop; if it takes Ennis? 2nd line smallish, talented forwards can be had. 1st round picks in the 18-21? Not a big deal, we've had our share over the years.

The biggest piece would be Eichel and are those pieces worth the difference between him and McDavid? That is for smarter hockey minds to decide.

Now with myers gone risto is all we have at a franchise defensemen. Move him and it sets us back further then bringing in mcdavid sets us forward. Not to mention the lost picks we'd need to replace risto.

Didnt say he was or is but he was the closest thing we had to being/becoming one. Im not debating his potential with you or anyone. Risto is the closest thing we have to a franchise/1st pairing dman. Trade him plus future picks and this defense gets set back years.

I did read gil...thanks...you have to weigh all these terms out...franchise player, generational player, stud, etc... these terms get used too lightly when describing players...i wasnt jumping down your throat sorry if you took it that way..just the way people describe players is so off.. myers is a solid 3-4 dman with some offensive upside....no more no less. he is by no means a franchise dman.

There is a risto in every draft....im not a learned man, but from what i hear there isnt a mcdavid in every draft. Would i overpay for him....no. Burry him in edm..Take Eichel and better your teams in other ways. I also wouldnt let risto be the sticking point in getting mcdavid either....risto and #2 okay if they ask for more frank off.
