The point is this: whether it's McDavid or Eichel, there are still a number of moves that need to be made if this team is going to win a Cup, and a lot of luck to be had as well.

This is why I don't think you try to make a huge trade for McDavid, even if he is light years better than Eichel.

There are still moves to make. You deplete your assets if you trade Eichel++++ for McDavid. You would have more spots to fill on your team and less assets to fill them with. Granted, you are now building around the guy expected to be the best player in the league for the next 10 years (or a good portion of that).

Build around Eichel, Reinhart, and Girgenson. That is projected to be one heck of a group of centers to be the core of your team for the next 10+ years.

Use the extra draft picks and prospects you don't see fitting into the system to get the complimentary pieces you need.

Ultimately that is how will find out how good Murray is as a GM.

Also, can we please stop with the "McDavid's career will be ruined in Edmonton"? The guy they will get this year is better than any of the #1's they had, and it's not really close. They also have more assets than just about anyone to use to fill the holes in their team.

McDavid will be fine there. He'll put up good numbers no matter what. But unless EDM does something on their blueline, they'll still lose. I'm more disappointed that he ended up there because we won't get to see him as much as I'd like. I can't really stay up that late that regularly and continue to function well at work. So even getting the Center Ice package is only really helpful on Fridays and Saturdays.

If they didn't before...I bet left and Boychuk sure do now...Edmonton has just put to many eggs in one basket....at some point the should have attempted to find guys like That...with out at least 2 new D men and stability in goal the will be in the lotto year in year out.

Hopefully our management can see the mistakes Edmonton has made and avoid following suite

My vacation was perfect with the knowledge of either. I woke up with mobile data at 5 am sunday morning and shrugged off the loss. Yeah, it's annoying we lost the lottery and TM could have phrased it a bit better. But with the player we're getting, I'm 100% content.

When we got to Cozumel, went to Planacar Beach btw. Nice, but the water had way too many big rocks.

I was pumped to get Eichel...I was nervous we would Finnish 29 and not get one of them...now we know it's Eichel I'm super excited...I was annoyed Edmonton Won it because the amount of times and their current situation ....but I'm not upset with our intended pick

I think he is. I'm sure everyone wanted McDavid a little more, and for Buffalo to actually win something. But I'm sure as poop Murray prefers to get one of those two over, say, anyone else. Arizona is devastated as they should be. No one in Buffalo should be butthurt in the slightest.

The further south you get from Cancun the rockier the beaches are I heard. Ours in the Hotel Zone of Cancun was fantastic. I had no complaints. Very clean, just a bit of some seaweed here and there. No rocks, jellyfish, or anything like that.

I also loved being able to go on vacation knowing that at least Eichel was a guarantee. Made it easy for me to go on vacation knowing that the final game had no bearing on that.
