Surely the lynchpin for possibly landing Babcock was drafting Connor McDavid.


They couldn't land him now if they want to or not. Det, SJ, or Bos maybe.

I assume Mr. Pegula became a successful businessman due to a good dose of objectivity (vs emotions) when making business decisions. I gotta believe that he is a smart guy who has surrounded himself with smart advisor's and they know that gutting the team to get McJesus (or ROR) isn't the proper thing to do. After all, I am sure Mr. Pegula doesn't want to see an opening day first line of McDavid with Matt Ellis and Zac Dalpe as his wingers.......

If that whole thing is true about the lottery - then there should be a lawsuit of some sort. With only one ball being chosen at that point, there wouldnt have been a big deal to start over. And for the record, just because an event is monitored by an accounting firm doesn't mean that the pencil necked nit wit has enough balls to stop the process and start it over. They dont do it in business audits, why would they do it in this scenario?

I dont agree with going after McDavid, and the extent that they should go after him is to swap picks and throw a D-man at them not name Risto.

Nothing to be scared over, he either makes an offer or he doesn't, i'm sure if the Oilers move the pick we would have to offer a lot IMO because other teams will. The Sabres are just in a better draft spot IMO.

Mr. Pegula and GMTM should focus their efforts (and wallets) on getting Babcock or another Tier 1 coach vs stalking McDavid. Take Jack in the draft and run with it. 99% of the Sabre fan base will be ecstatic vs gutting our team

If you were going to give up McD, what would you want in return? What team has the capability to meet and, more importantly, agree to those demands?

EDM is in a postion to get the greatest score ever. If they were to trade down to #2 they'd get a king's ransom. Then they would trade down to #3 and get a second ransom and get the D man they wanted, plus 10+ picks and prospects to work with.
