All joking aside I'm a firm believer in that any and all offers to improve your team should be listened to. That said the last player of his ability that was moved was Lindros. It was quite a haul and you can't send money in deals like what was done in the old days. So the haul for McDavid would be greater by a ton IMO.

Since acquiring Bogosian and watching him I feel that Myers is a better defensemen and all around talent than Bogosian.
Sure it's tough for me to say about Myers, but I will always admit the truth or when I was wrong.
Don't get me wrong , I am not saying either of them are great, but I see that Myers is better than Bogosian and I would rather have Myers back.
Murray doesn't have to "earn my respect" but he does have to prove to this 40+ year fan that he is a valid NHL General Manager and that he is capable of making astute sage decisions and not erratic compulsive wild decisions for my favorite sports franchise.

I never once said that I liked the trade as a whole.
However, I was happy that Myers was moved which is the part I loved.
I do agree that you truly can not evaluate the trade in its entirety until everything has played out.
But the way I see it is that Murray overpaid with that 1st rounder being involved.
If that 1st rounder wasn't involved then, I would call it an even deal.
A 1st round pick is a hefty overpay in any sport.

I think it'll take Eichel + Risto + something else. Admitedly i don't watch much college hockey but I don't think the gap between eichel and mcdavid is Ristolainen + but that's what imagine it will take.

It's two contingencies and the price will be too high. We can always hope that the Otters situation pans out, but holding your breath will only make you turn blue and cause an excruciatingly painful headache.

See IMO, it's more arrogant when you read 95% of the posters and people on the radio or twitter laugh at this trade the night before when the rumor was posted, then do a complete 180 about 24 hours later.

I also think it's arrogant to give Murray props for getting us to 30th, but at the exact same time claim he tried his hardest to make us better and it's not his fault Hodgson sucks and whatever.

At least I have stuck with my opinion this entire time
