Well I was thinking Wayne Gretzky ....but that the only experience I have as a vested fan in Stanley Cup Championships. But thanks for offering your perspective.

Yeah, few teams come back from 2-1 down. Series over.
- micah555

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but I do think it's going to be a tough hill to climb.

Virtanen would be a legit physical presence in this series. I can just imagine him destroying the defence on the forecheck. Alas, we'll have to wait for that element to be added.

Canucks aren't allowed calling up Virtanen.
What is going on with Jordan Subban? He could be a real difference maker. Quarter back the PP and use his imposing physical presence.

I predict everything will be calm again until late in the game should the Canucks be too far ahead. I envision that Hartley thinks that fine is an indulgence that he's already paid and he gets to double down on it.
- micah555

Or was it a freebee for WD?!

Now who's female doging?

Bring it on Canucks.....now the Flames are just straight up in their heads.

I suspect tonight's game is going to be a little anti climactic after Fridays. Unless Vancouver blows it open again.

Bang on!

It's the playoffs bro! The storm will not blow over so I hope you built a strong enough shelter!

I know they aren't allowed to call him up. I'm just suggesting that he could be a potential difference maker.

Please tell me you just spent your time going through pages of this thread looking for predictions that didn't line up with how the game went in reality.

I read that first page and burst out laughing haha. I love how the Canucks fans still won't admit this is a rivalry....maybe they are just scared?

So that hit by burrows is a penalty and the hit on sibsa in the 1st isn't? Bullpoop.
- micah555

This is not a trolling comment, but what I saw as the difference is that Ferland on Sbisa was shoulder to shoulder, and came just after he had made a pass. Burrows' hit on Gaudreau was from behind and JG never had control of the puck. That was what I saw as the difference between the two hits anyhow.

Flames fan, so take it with a grain of salt

How many fans are saying it's not a rivalry? And why do you some how think that's insulting to the Flames? I'm confused why you love that people don't think it's a rivalry? Flames used to be the Canucks biggest rival but with the "recent" playoff series' against Chicago and LA the Hawks and Kings became their biggest rivals. Imagine if the Flames and Canucks played eachother again in the next couple of playoffs following this year. That's what happened with Chicago and LA. Nice to see this old rivalry have new life breathed into it but still a ways to go.

Tavares scores, Crosby scores, Kane scores.... with no Sedin scoring, it will be over in 5. (Maybe 6 if Calgary wants another home game)

Flames got their due, nor more, no less. I didn't see WD line up his tough guys against the Flames in the final minutes, nor see any instigation. The call on Burrows seemed pretty weak and if you can't take a beating from Burrows, you don't belong in the NHL.

It's ok... your high from all the excitement. It's ok. Enjoy ever part of everything because we are enjoying it for you as well. You have sucked for so long that you have our hearts simply because we don't want to play road-kill anymore.

Thank you for all the points leading to our President Trophies. Where was the rivalry then?

Thank you for all the points that led to the Sedins winning Art Ross Trophies but I did not see any intensity that would suggest anything close to a rivalry.

Good luck. Whoever wins this series, I will root for, one because they deserve it and one because the Calgary act of being the equivalent of being the slime at the bottom of the pool is getting old.

But manufactured rivalries only exist on sportstalk radio and those wanting to sell you something.

When we play LA and Chicago, try to pay attention.

Fair enough. I don't see it that way, especially with Sbisa getting his nose busted up and Gaudreau being fine, but you have a point.

Interested to see if they rescind Burrows' instigator penalty.

It is Burrows, after all...

I predict no Hamhuis or burrows for game 4. Because it the Canucks they throw the book at us. I am surprised with a lead and PP Hartley still throws out Ferland and Engelland in the last minute. I'm not really impressed with either team in this series.
