Haha dude is right and it's been the same way for years. When asked if miller should play next game. He said something to that its not Eddie fault, it's the players in front of him. Sadly he's right and sadly Van has had very good goalies for a while and haven't got it done. One constant have been the 6 in front of them with minor, minor tweaks. I say time for a blow up on the D core.

I would even take a young less experienced D group then these guys anymore.

- manvanfan

Canucks had that for a stretch this year... Saved their season.

Been saying this about our D Core for a couple years now.

Like some guy just said on Twitter , the announcers thought Russel was getting the instigator, so if they couldn't tell , it should not be suspendable
- VANTEL

The announcers thought Russell was getting it because there was a hit on a flames players and then a fight ...usually that is always the team who was hit instigating the fight ..once they watched the replay they admitted it was an obvious instigator for burrows ...I imagine it will be rescinded just to keep the Canucks from complaining

I will say that Horvat has also been good. I'd like to see Sven go in for Kenins though. Shake things up a bit

I honestly think kenins has been better than a lot of other Canucks ...leave him in and take out someone else

Miller better start tomorrow night, Lack has been average.

Kenins throws a few hits and did have a nice goal last game... But he makes a lot of mistakes out there. I find that he turns the puck over way too often at his own blueline, rather than making a simple play and getting it out.

I guess I haven't really noticed him doing it ...I just seemed to notice him more in the offensive zone off the rush ...maybe that is just aided by Bo tho

Kenins is doing the best he can, and I like him, but he's riding coattails a bit. He'd be better served on an energy line with Dorsett and Richardson, playing about 10-13 mins per night. He doesn't have the offensive creativity necessary to really keep up with Bo and Hansen, IMO

I hope we re-sign Richardson and get rid of Higgins and Matthias(I know he scores but he's too soft).

They don't change unless someone lower then us makes the final 4. I think it's dumb.

Was very wrong about the score last night too. Hard to believe I imagined that the canucks would come to play two games in a row

It seems strange that the drafting order for 14 teams is heavily dependent upon regular season record and for 16 teams making the playoffs, post season results are the factor.

I do think by the end of this series the ice time for the twins and Bo will have to be elevated ...they just aren't out there enough

It only affects the teams good enough to make it to the conference finals so I don't see what's wrong with it ...would you rather the Kings get the 15th overal pick or 30th ?

Lack was very good in his first 2 games, last night I thought he could have done a better job fighting to see pucks through the traffic but it's not his fault that his own guys are terrible at clearing the front of the net and actually provide Calgary double screens.

I agree which means that Bonino can be traded at the draft also. He's not very good on face-offs. McCann or Cassels should be fighting for the 4th centre position.

D has been bad again. Talking about turnovers haha they can't even chip the puck up the boards to get it out of the zone last game. Edler was a beast in game 2 and invisible last night. not good enough. Bieska is more worried about trying to fight everyone. Hammers getting beat in front of the net by 19 year olds. Maybe Miller needs to start just for the mind set of the players.

I'm not a big Bonino fan either, he's a great value at his cap hit though. If this team isn't going to contend soon then I say use him as a trade chip to a contending team who is up against the cap but needs a forward who can put up 40 points or so on the right team.

As much as I like McCann, we got bent over in that trade thanks to Kesler's demands.

Reason I like Richie as our 4LC is his speed, PK ability and he has that edge to him from his LA days. He's always slashing other players and will shove you right back if you hit him. That's the kind of players you need in your bottom 6. Guys who can play hockey and also provide some grit.

True story.

Plus I bet Miller wouldn't be shy to call out his guys in the locker room to play better or give them the staredown if they screen him and/or don't clear the net and shooting lane.

Always enjoy this blog. So many great comments about the games and the teams. Especially Vantel. HB could use more like you, sir.

That said, I have a serious question: It took Calgary a few seasons to solve the Iginla dilemma. And nobody in their wildest dreams could have imagined we would be this good, this fast. In hindsight, Iginla should have been gone several years sooner.
That said, what about the Sedins? They are 2 of the best and most respected players in the game and I can't imagine one without the other. Do you trade them? Let them decide when they've had enough? It's bound to be really tough but do you see similarities with our Iginla dilemma? Or has no one been willing to talk about life after the Sedins yet?

Don't really have the same dilemma that Iglinla had. As long as the Canucks are competing for a playoff spot, they will not be traded. It's a lot of cap space and money to take on both also.

I don't see the comparables really ...Iggy needed a center ...we had bare cupboards ...I think the better play is to bring in more kids like Bo and allow them to work their way to being top 6 players and then eventually you have the twins on line two

I have trouble understanding how anyone can say Burrows instigated that fight. Not sure if Russell instigated it either. Unless someone has some audio of what was said right before the fight.

"want to fight?", "them's fightin' words!" and gloves are dropped.

They are still complaining about that high stick on Richardson!
