I like that Murray is a straight shooter. He says what he thinks. That's refreshing after Darcy, who never said anything worth listening to.

That would make things real interesting. If he pulled a Lindros, i bet the sabres would lose out on that deal. Oilers would want instant veteran results. I dont know where their cap is, but this is where a Malkin, Kane, or Taves plus other players would come in to play. Would be a very smart move for Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, sharks or washington to make a big move for him. You get a star AND cap relief!

Since STL won their division, they'll have a lower pick than the NYI as long as NYI dont reach the conference finals. If STL doesnt advance to the CF but the Islanders do, thats a worse case scenario for us because the Blues were a division winner. Our other 1st round pick will be mid-20's.

But if Isles lose in 1st or 2nd round, AND any combination of the teams in front of them make the conference finals (Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Calgary, Winnipeg, Minnesota) then their pick goes higher in the 1st round for us.

From those links it still is a leap to think McD has bad blood with Oilers ownership. But makes for some fun conjecture. Thanks for posting those, I was too tired (lazy, small of a man) to scour the Internetz.

EDIT: Just reread your comment about the family ties. If that's truly the case it might explain his seemingly lack of emotion when EDMs golden ticket was drawn.
