Signing him has "Nothing to do with Jack"????????

Even if by some extreme illogical form of thinking, management was to pursue him whether we ended up with Echiel or not, This without a doubt, and "Honestly" will have ripple effects upon Jack Echiel.

You cannot deny this unless you've had too much of that ethanol or whatever you pour into your mouth.....

Seriously, he was good and had an excellent season. I was wondering who was going to sign him.

And can you explain to me how he is unhappy then ? They needed help with Rochester had a phenomenal year and just got rewarded with the contract has nothing to do with jack IMO

Being close to Chicago and my company having an office just outside Chicago I will call shenanigans on that. One of my managers who played hockey understood when I laughed at him about that contract.

I think Chicago is 50/50 on Crawford

It seems that on social media nearly all fangirls adore him. Seems daily to see a rage from one about him. But then again, social media is a jungle.

per; BobMcKenzie......its done!

But we're not supposed to like this move

- MEBSabresFAN

Well I like it
Kid isn't gonna play on a line with Eichel again, but he's got skills. Another talented winger going to Rochester next year. They should be pretty good... At least at forward. Defense could be iffy besides McCabe & Ruhwedel.

Murray also said he has contacted several teams about a goalie and will sit back and wait.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the Leafs will be the silly team that drafts Crouse way too high.
- HonkFortheGoose

Hahaha
That would be funny.
I could be wrong though. He's rated high for a reason. Just doesn't seem to produce enough for me. I feel like he's being elevated BC of his size, but he's only an average skater (at best) from what I've seen. Which I'll admit isn't much.
I also feel that way about Fasching, but u and some others have mentioned I'm prob over concerned about that. Maybe it's the same with Crouse too.

It's not .. The Rochester Americans team is freaking terrible I don't even know who they're going to bring back is more to help them out than us yes he could get a call up but there most likely will be six guys ahead of him
- gerbe75pts

They have an ECHL roster. When the draft pciks from the last few drafts start filling in that roster they will rise like the Sabres.

How much of it had to do with Eichel?

Its a low risk move and not exactly one you can "complain" about but its no different than the signing of that garbowsky kid from RIT. I'll be happily surprised if he makes but i have very low expectations.

Like I said before. It's low risk. Signing him as a college FA isn't hurting us in any way if he doesn't end up working out. It'll be nice to have him here during camp and stuff for Eichel to have a familiar face in the room, but at the end of the day, he's going to be in Rochester so hopefully Eichel doesn't get too used to the idea of having him around.

No where do I say that in my post.

You said, "This signing has NOTHING to do with JACK" Its unfathomable that, while he has had an impressive college year, many will and rightfully so suggest that it was a direct result of lining up with Jack Echiel, in simply terms, Management HAD to assess this aspect and in doing so would have discussed the positive and or negative consequences the signing of the linemate & A:Captain of the most important player the BUFFALO SABRES have selected since Gilbert.

This may not be JUST for JACK but I can assure you it is certainly Good for Jack and the Buffalo Sabres Organization will continue to provide/influence decisions with their "ConerStone" Centerman in Mind

And rightly they should, Buffalo is now JACK ECHIEL is from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until STANLEY CUP do us part!

I just read where someone had given him top honors of all our prospects for this season and I'll be damned I can't find where I read it.

Nice. I'm not surprised.
I remember him saying a couple times he talked with some teams about their young goalies who were either backups or splitting time.
Teams didn't want to make moves at the time though, so he said he revisit it in the offseason.
Ppl on here talk about top6 forward a lot, but I think goalie is his top priority
