In regards to Eichel going back to college, sure you save a year on his ELC, but everyone else ie. Evander Kane, are 1 year closer to free agency. We need to start building this winning culture now so guys want to stay. Eichel going back to BU is not what's best for the Sabres organization. - Pierceme69
It's not the best thing, but it's also not a sign that he's never going to join the team, which is the desire of haters (like those hoping McDavid doesn't sign with Edmonton) |

Your close-mindedness is astonishing. Murray has been at the helm for just over a year; let it be for a bit. Step away from the ledge bud - jackoc150

Not many people will agrer, but Ted Nolan seems to get the most out of his goalies.
DiPietro
Latvian goalie
Enroth
Nuevirth
I don't think it's all a coincidence
I have a feeling our goaltending will be an issue - sbroads24
he creates a system that is all defense first. it helps his goalies see weaker shots from the opponent. problem is that it also prevents the team from having any offensive consistency thus they lose a lot of close games.
DiPietro was a decent goalie. He ran across hip injuries and was never able to recover. Nuevirth is a decent goalie as well. |

not if they retain irbe...he's the one who worked wonders with guldlevskis, enroth, neuvirth, and lindback...
btw, lindback really turned some heads...like his puck-handling skills as well |

Let's see if he tries to get one of those 3 Ottawa goalies after this season.
Hammond is a UFA
Lehner is under contract until the end of the 16/17 season at 2.25 and then 3.15.
Anderson is under contract until the end of the 17/18 season at 4.75 and then 4.75 and finally 3.10.
If he makes a play for one of those goalies my point will be made and I will then go and puke. - BuffaloHardHat
yeah.... How bad would it be to get a young solid goalie in Lehner or an olympic veteran in Anderson..
i would pass on hammond. |

Agreed on the 1st paragraph, and IMO it has a lot to do with the fact he's never had a talented roster.
2nd part, I agree that Nuevirth is decent, and wouldn't mind him back but I don't think that I would expect him to repeat the Sv% he posted here, same with Lindback |

That's fair, I just know you guys (obviously, or else you wouldn't have gotten Neuvirth) have had some issues with backups before and he had decent personal stats on the pooptiest team in the NHL - stashu
Forget about back ups we had problems with goaltenders in general since Kelly Hrudey . I think we were all excited with Neuvirth coming over. Some even speculated he may push for the starting job but he just didn't play all that great in his limited starts. That could have changed with more starts and more time to adjust? One thing I'm sure of is him being better option than that dumpster fire Johnson. |

I for one would love us to get him - gerbe75pts
looks ok...but he's a fourth round pick...not sure i'd compare eichel to him...
oh, and if he can move the puck well, sabres could use some help in Rochester next season |

It could be. Not the easiest position to fill and I can say that first hand. Best case scenario is you luck out with a drafted goalie. Getting a decent one the FA way is not the easiest task. Guessing Murray will probably use a bunch of his late picks on some to up his odds. That unfortunately hasn't worked out for us so well. |

I'm extremely happy with Jaro but he has to be one of the worst goalies I've ever seen at handling the puck. |

the sabres have been keeping the goalie-pipeline well stocked...they'll have a draft pick joining fa Makarov in Rochester next season and they have an intriguing prospect in cal Peterson who will be a sophomore at notre dame...
who starts for the sabres next year is questionable, but I was impressed with lindback, they can make a good case for O'Connor and they have the financial flexibility to go after one of those Ottawa goalies |

I mean you can't look at the draft status of a player and say Oh he's not good sometimes outrank there draft status would you say Kevin Hayes is not good ? Or anders lee and the top rookie Johnny hockey I hate when people look at draft status ,oh he was drafted in the sixth round is not good |

I still think we sign O'Connor. We get Eichel and O'Connor. its like 2 first round picks right there.

i'm with ya on that, but there is a difference between eichel and reilly, Schultz or gadreau...imo, it's better to compare eichel to toews and van riemsdyk...
I can understand why people might get a little anxious, but I won't go there |

From what I saw of O'Connor in the frozen four I have zero interest in him. |
