I understand Chris Higgins kills penalties but he should not be getting four minutes more a game than the Sedins. That's prepostorous.
- vancity787

Simple first step is to put someone else on the 2nd unit pp. Why worry about the Sedins being fresh when Higgins is playing the most among forwards and in every situation.

Then the next step is to play your 1st line more than your 2nd line.

I will have some of what ever WD is smoking, it must be real, real good.

I'm really looking forward to the off season moves Benning will be making. He has seen this team play, seen the areas that need to be addressed...

Higgins avg 14.3 min at 5on5. Danny had 10.9 min at 5on5.
Bonino had 12.5 min at 50n5. Henrik had 11.9 at 5on5.

Sedin line controlled 75% of all shots while playing..... that is the argument being made. The sedin's dominated 5on5 but still ended up not getting the lionshare of the minutes.

100%. All comments I made in real time during the game. You could visibly see the Sedins controlling the play more often than not, and certainly more often than any other line. They just struggled to finish. I did get some pushback from more than one person stating they weren't our best line.

A garbage goal scored here and some big hits coming there can certainly skew people's perceptions on what is or is not effective.

Willie's saving the twins for a long playoff run. They play the cycle game which means they need to play lots. Don't understand willie's logic.

I wonder if the twins ever get pissed off with coaches (frank)ing with their game.

From crawford - AV - torts - willie.

Probably. Although AV seemed to really let them do their thing.

Yeah, that's crazy. I've got no problem rolling four lines, but if your best line isn't getting the most minutes then you are doing it wrong.

I thought Tanev had a couple good shifts where he was skating well and evading, spinning around controlling the puck but I heard on the radio he had one of his worst games stats wise.

Hearing pundits say WD was out coached, I'm starting to believe this is true...

Man, that Ferland on Sbisa hit looks even heavier now on this replay than last night.

It's seems to be that way, especially last night. The CGY coaching staff clearly watched some videotape on what works well against us because their forechecking in Game 3 almost came out of nowhere and is one of our undisputed achilles heals.

I agree with this to an extent, id keep kassian and vey (still young) and Bonino because he has a really low cap hit
- phyllee

In my mind if Vey can stick around as a 13th forward. Kassian I'm tired of. Bonino has been replaced by Horvat. He's doesn't have the right qualities for bottom 6 so traded for other parts.

Yup, but even he wasn't immune to criticism. Lots of guys on here (and in the MSM) female doged about AV playing them too much. Relying on them too much.

They are who they are. Why (frank) with it. Just make sure you surround them with complimentary players.

If Engelland or Hartley weren't suspended for their actions in game 2. Nothing in this game is even remotely suspension worthy.

If the canucks don't play a whole lot better this series is over.

The forcheck last night was non existent (the canucks that is)
Lack was meh and there were a lot of undisipline plays.

As bad as av was out coached in the playoffs. Its nothing compared to this. If Willie is just gonna roll 4 lines evenly and not make adjustments, we might as well not even have a coach

I have a problem saying keep one and ship out another when we can't see the rest of the roster. I am not sure if Vey can succeed playing bottom6 but don't relish the idea of a line with both Vey and Sven.

I have no issue with Bonino as a 3rd line centre, a better fit there than Vey... and he is good on the pk and may be better on the pp if he plays with better support.

Rolling them evenly isn't so bad but giving the 2nd line guys the lions share is

The thing with Calgary is, they've been playing play-off style hockey for the last month and a half, so they have already faced adversity and a lot of pressure just to get to the dance. The Canucks,, meanwhile, basically backed into the playoffs as a result of other teams losing. It could very well be that (no hate mail please) Calgary is in fact the better team. Either way, as you indicated, if the Canucks don't match Calgary's speed, tenacity and forecheck this series is going to be over quickly.

Agreed but he's a rookie NHL coach. We can't expect him to be Sam Bennett.

Anyone who denies that he isn't a good coach is just blinded by hatred. Every coach makes decisions that annoy their fanbase, even Mike Babcock is hated by some Red Wing fans so is he also a bad coach?

AV did well with what he had to work with every year.

Come on.

Ottawa was amazing down the stretch. They're down 3-0
Pens were awful. They're 1-1

Don't hold me at this, but I believe march was Vancouver's best month.

Its got nothing to do with best team.

To win your best players have to be your best players. While the best players deserve a share of the blame, this is one the coach. Like get them out there vs Schelmko and weather spoon. Get them out there on icing calks. Get them out there again st Raymond.
Bottom line is Willie isn't giving them the opportunity to succeed
