It not even the fact the twins are the best players - it's also the style they play. They have a tendency to play longer shifts than most because it takes time to setup the cycle.

I heard one of the talking heads (maybe Kyper or Cox) say the twins are being selfish by not ending their shift sooner. Did a bunch of time/shift comparisons. So much derp. Drove me crazy.

Good points, by the way, about how the Sedins take a little longer to 'get going' in terms of cycling and set-up. You don't hear any problems, however, with guys like Toews getting 20 minutes of ice-time or any other of the top 50 forwards soaking up as much on-ice time as possible in these playoffs. 16 minutes a game is a travesty and the more I think about it the more I'm getting ticked off at WD. This is not rocket science, for f*ck sakes

I agree and mentioned this a little while back; that, perhaps we are seeing one of the first flaws/tendencies that WD employs. In every other series you are seeing the top players ice-time in and around the 19-20+ mark and even higher as the situation merits. WD's rolling his lines is an admirable concept but not in the playoffs where you only get a few chances and retrospect is something that no one can afford. I guess we'll see what happens but he needs to start using those high end assets and relying on his best players to deliver. Giving Sedins 15-16 minutes of ice-time is a recipe for a short series. They should be double shifted wherever possible, now that the Canucks have their backs against the wall

For Higgins to play more in a game that you are trailing and haven't had to kill a ton of penalties is crazy.
