I had turned off the game at that point, but if Bieksa started chucking first, its kinda cheap move but Ferland should have been given his lumps 2 games ago.

The guy has been running around immune for 3 games and the Canucks needed to put an end to it - not the most respectful way to do it but needed to be done....

I don't think what juice did will end it.... if anything it is confirmation that what he is doing is working.

Last night the Sedin twins controlled over 75% of the 5 on 5 shot attempts when they were on the ice. If Willie wants to regain some of the momentum he's lost, he's going to have to play them more. With them controlling the play like that, they'll be able to tire down Calgary's defence and keep Calgary from having shifts that serve to gain them momentum.

I'm really hoping they play 20 mins a night for the rest of the series with Vrbata on the top line.

Amen! Vrbata seems lost out there right now....he's become a perimeter player this series....

I agree its working but maybe some accountability for his play will deter it a bit????

Gaunce - big body with some skill.......hit everyone in sight......this series reminds me of watching the LAK-Canucks series the Kings first Cup run.....
- chompsey

That is what Ferland has been doing. Everyone was hearing footsteps, it is an effective strategy.

The team eased up on the physical play and weren't happy with the result. They need to hit and be physical to win.

I think teams have figured it out. Be physical with the canucks and you have a good chance at winning every game. In 2011 the canucks have an incredible power play so teams had to walk that line carefully. Now, not so much

he seemed to be having a blast, was wildly cheered, got 2nd star, and was interviewed on ice after the game. i doubt anything less than getting hit by a truck will deter him at the moment.

Regardless of the player chosen it's all about development. So many voids to fill I don't know where to start.

Hitting him with a truck you say? I'm off to Calgary and I'll be waiting for him with my F150

He is like Torres. His hit on Sbisa should have been a 2 minute penalty. I'm not fortune teller but I predict he gets suspended some time in the next year.

Take a flier on Jesper Lindgren in the 2nd or 3rd round and wait for him to develop - has Erik Karlsson type skills...

Just wondering if next game the refs will be calling it differently? Will they be consistent start to finish? Heard something about the leagues talking to the teams.

Not knowing which team will show up to play is bad enough, but not knowing how the game will be reffed is nuts.

Besides Sven, is there anyone they could call up from Utica that would make any sort of impact?

I thought a Torres comparison qualified as "props"? Torres was terrific at instilling fear in other teams defense. They always knew there was a chance he would destroy them when they rent back for the puck. Need someone like that again.

We need to regain both and more. I love the top 60 in this draft. We should retool this season. Usually after the top 20 in most drafts I could care less. 60 at least i like

So depressing. very limited options.

I hope Tanev works on his shot in the off season, ala Kesler. And puts on a little weight.

Interesting that Comets are playing Wolves in the first round. I heard that wolves and canucks parted ways on not so good terms. Should be a good 1st round.
