alright. i found myself standing in the same store, in the same spot, with the same mini fridge staring me in the same face as last week.



sometimes a year or more goes by but i always seem to give kickstart another try despite its approximately 96% fail rate. this says a lot about me. i am either a super nice, overly optimistic guy or i am shockingly unintelligent.

so there i stood perusing the flavors. grape seemed interesting to me (for some reason) but i decided that i am tired of this abusive relationship that i have with mountain dew kickstart and that the fruit punch was the only true way to find out if she really loves me. i have rockstar punched to compare it to so my point of reference is primo. i don't expect anything to ever be as good as punched but i'll just see how it stacks up and that will help me decide if any of these flavors are even worth pursuing.

so i drank it. i drank it as i drove home. i drank it sitting in front of the computer. i actually just finished the can 4 sentences ago. it's good. but it's not great. i think the bottom line on kickstart is that, like gatorade g2, there is an ingredient used in every flavor that has a noticeably distinct taste no matter which one you choose. there may be people who are into this taste but to me it isn't that enjoyable. therefore it is unnecessary. i don't need this in my life.

so, kickstart, you can continue to run the worst marketing campaign i've seen in modern times, it's not going to change my mind. nothing is going to change my mind. i'm over you. don't come crawling back. you are out of chances. i'm better than this and i won't continue to let you treat me like this.

so i was bored and decided to run across the street and see what was new at 7 eleven.

sure enough, they didn't let me down.



a new addition to the ultra white "7 select" line. there are three flavors but i left vanilla behind as they were 2 for $4 or something like that and i wasn't buying a third since it will probably be terrible.

anyway, sure enough this isn't very good. i drank the mocha one first because i usually enjoy mocha and mocha flavored thingies. there's an artificial sweetener taste even though it's clearly not diet and the proof is in the 3 lbs i gained between tearing off the safety seal and tossing the empty bottle in the trash.

i'll let you know about the other one later.

also, i have an additional surprise which will be revealed later on today or at a later date.
