okay, we'll start with this.

the royal farms brand orange soda. somehow "royal farms" translates to "RoFo" instead of "RoFa" but i'll get to the bottom of that later.




these things usually go one of two ways, it's surprisingly delicious or unfinishably bad. so what if i made a word up? this was close to being one of those few instances where it falls somewhere in between.

right off the bat when the "pop" hits my tongue there is a smack of sweetness that gets me pretty excited about the next few seconds of my life. unfortunately, this sensation just falls off a cliff and disappears, followed by a bit of a strange taste. the strange taste is hard to explain. because it's strange, you know? i almost wonder if it's coming from the plastic bottle. the strange taste is what sticks around as the aftertaste too, so that doesn't really work out in my favor either. after this little roller coaster ride takes place it also occurs to me that this could be more carbonated than it is. definitely doesn't seem fizzy enough for me, which i think makes it lack crispness.

again, it's store brand stuff so it either surprises you or it doesn't. this one doesn't.

i usually open the sacred thread in another tab and write it a bit at a time as i drink the beverage.


full disclosure, i did dump the last few sips of the rofo orange pop. but it may have just been due to the unnecessarily friendly 24 ounces they provide. i may have just been full of pop.

i (frank)ing love this.

lemon lime sodas aren't a big favorite of mine. you may have noticed i don't fux with them much. i've always found them a bit of a bore even though i'm a big lime guy. they're always either too syrupy or too dry and tasteless.

but if i ever have to choose a lemon lime soda that lemon lime soda would be mountain dew ice.

it's much more sprite than 7up, which is a good thing. but it has more zing to it with a little boost of sweetness plus a surprising dose of a citrusy sourness.

i thought about it and zing was the word i came up with.

it's definitely more syrupy than crisp, but it's an acceptable level of syrupy. it helps it stick around and the aftertaste is just like the regular taste. you want it on your tongue, you need it on your tongue. you can talk about this at parties though. like, feel free.

Episode 1 of the Diet Coke reviews starts with the Zesty Blood Orange. It smells of coke, with a slight hint of orange. Appearance is that of a standard diet coke. Now on to the taste. At first sip it's the definitive flat tasting diet coke with a very subtle orange/zest/citrus taste. I find it somewhat underwhelming. It's just enough to let you know that it is there, but not enough in my opinion to make it stand out against the regular diet coke.

For a diet coke, it's not bad, but I wouldn't buy this flavor again.

oh, i forgot to make fun of this guy i meant to make fun of.

so i'm standing in wawa one day last week and this mountain of a man is in line in front of me. i mean unhealthily large. not that i'm making fun but it can't be good for his heart. the guy was sweating bullets and it's january.

anyway, just as i started to kind of actually feel bad i noticed that he had taken a 44 ounce soda fountain cup and went over to the milkshake machine and filled it with chocolate shake. that's what he was sweating over.
