i don't think i took a picture on my counter but i have purchased, and have been drinking, a sleeve of diet dr. pepper. but not the cherry one this time.

anyway, a few years ago they had a tag line where everyone in the commercials would say "wow, diet dr. pepper really does taste more like regular dr. pepper!" it was maybe a bit wordy for a tag line and it didn't last long. in any event, diet dr. pepper really does taste more like regular dr. pepper. i've long believed that this is probably the diet soda that most tastes like its full fatty counterpart.

i've never really looked into what the 11 herbs and spices are but i mostly taste cherry (obviously) and vanilla when i drink a dr. pepper and it's no different here. can you tell it's diet? of course you can. especially at the very end of the sip when you taste the artificial sweetener, just like with any diet soda. but this is a really well executed diet soda.

so far in the diet category, i have been surprised with the drinkability of diet seagram's ginger ale and fanta orange zero, both of which i thought would be absolute poison. i already knew this diet dr. pepper was okay because i'd had it before. the diet dr. pepper cherry was also good but i think i'd stick with this one since it already tastes like cherry anyway. so the diet thing isn't really going that bad.

i think the best way to commit suicide would be to change your diet to 100% french fries and pepsi. you'll be dead inside of 6 weeks but what a way to go.
